Build Log - [Millennium] - Mercury S8S - Page 146

Guys ... I am after some double sided tape. It doesn't have to hold very much ... only a couple of grams ... is there a 'light weight' version of this?

iBro, I am fine. Just gathering data for model I am assisting my boss to build. I have to always go to campus to use the Bloomberg terminal don't have money to be paying almost $10000 every month for access to the Bloomberg software.

I will soon start my build as I have everything I need. I just don't know if I should start a build log or not. I can only do serious work on the build during the weekends.

Sup Ceadder? smile.gif

The Bloomberg Terminal sounds like a SciFi Thriller I should write about a parallel SIM with portal access only for the super rich. tongue.gif

typer.gif

When I get the RAID 0 external USB 3.1 gen 2 type C running AND the new KingPin arrives (cannot use the Rampage board and 6800K without a vid card frown.gif), I'll make a large file transfer video for you guys just to test out USB 3.1 SuperSpeed+.

I'll make certain its horizontal panoramic video this time and not a Walmart grade vertical potato.

.

Not much. Just trying to get moved into the new place. Only to have gotten the wrong key. doh.gifrolleyes.gif

Cut a very small section of Gorilla Clear Mounting Tape (double sided) weight limit is 15lbs.

Also comes in black with a 30lb weight limit. thumb.gif

I almost used this to support my res in the Emerging Reservoir Mod, but luckily my math was accurate enough in predicting the compressibility of the CaseLabs U-Channel liner at .2mm radius .4mm diameter the reservoir supports itself (floating) in the midchassis deck even filled with coolant. So Yay! smile.gif

At 6:15 he begins describing the parts involved in his new gaming build, he did choose a 6800K, that's good. biggrin.gif But he didn't get a high binned 6800K from Siliconlottery.com, that's a shame, when sometimes you can get a guaranteed clock for the same price or $10 more $20 more than playing the lottery. redface.gif

I'd say for his purpose and the time he spent gathering information he put together an above average rig, but like anything, more time = better decisions. He got his feet wet, accomplished his goal and made his son extremely happy, so that's what's important here. Have a feeling he will be upgrading quite a bit as the building bug has definitely caught him like a fever, a few months he may swap out that NZXT for a CaseLabs, who knows. biggrin.gif

Two months ago we saw Terry in the Netflix film The Ridiculous 6, Alina thought is was dumb and pointless (she's a story must be meaningful person), I love wacky comedies, laughed my head off and watched it again last weekend "still funny", so check out that movie when you get a chance.

Sprill if the long FlexBay mount is working fine and your front cover lines up flush with no discrepancies or voids, then the short mount should work fine also. If it does indeed line up then AquaComputer did update the mount for the A6 and the Non-Conforming mount is no longer needed.

Keeping your clear protective wrap on the Aquaero 6 screen until the very last moment for protection while building? I gotcha man. tongue.gif

Do you think an Aquaero 7 will be announced in September? It has been three whole years since the A6 launched, hmmmmm thinking.gif

I'll ask Mary at Performance PCs to sleeve one of these Sanyo Denki 9S12124011s Silent Type S industrial fans in the Bitspower Ultratight black sleeving and drop it into your shipment, give it a try for your rear exhaust, if they raise your shipping by two dollars, I just give them the cash difference, I don't want to mess up your order bro. OR is that a 140mm rear Corsair fan you are using?

The Bitspower sleeving looks like this. They do a great job of sleeving parts at PPCS. smile.gif

Sprill, you're EK R5E10 monoblock is arriving today? Can we see a couple pics? If I get one it will not be in my hands until Monday next week. still unsure if I'm getting one, I mean $200, I can put that money towards the Seasonic 850watt Prime Titanium, guess I'm still on the fence and not so happy EK didn't offer the full coverage monoblock AND a CPU VRM ONLY monoblock for $140. darn it EK, who is making decisions over there anyway? rolleyes.gif

.

I'm leaving the protective screen on as long as possible. biggrin.gif

I'm using an ML120 for my rear exhaust. I have an extra GT as well but I like the aesthetics of the fan I've mounted there. They're the same fans I'm using for my air intakes on the bottom of the case (but I'm waiting on the 30mm screws to mount them).

I was disappointed by the sleeving I got from PPCS actually. I ordered 12 GTs from them and 9 from Dazmode. The ones from PPCS were only sleeved up to the corner of the fan where Daz sleeved all the way to the center. If you look at my fans on the top vs the ones I have mounted vertically you can see the difference (I'll take some photos to illustrate).

My monoblock should arrive tomorrow, and I'd be happy to take any photos you like.

I'm using ModMyToys PCB blocks for my fans and I'm getting some wonky readings from my Aquaero. On PWM control my RPMs read 0 for a few seconds, then ~300 RPM, then the actual. I'm not sure if it's the Aquaero or the blocks to blame. Has anyone had this issue? I'm curious if using Aquacomputer Splittys would solve my problem and give me better fan control. As I'm only using 4 or 6 of the 8 slots (always filling PWM1 first) I'm wondering if that's the issue.

I'll upload a screenshot to my build log later on.

Spirillum, ITs the ModMyToys Blocks for sure. Ive got two of them one 8 pin and one 6 pin which directly connect to my motherboard and it reads the exact same way.

Thread Starter
Spirillex, it's due to the RPM wire being connected throughout the entire block. Just cut the trace or snip the extra pins. Keep the 4pin -> Aquaero Header full, and snip all but one 4 pin header. Alternatively, Phobya has a correct 4 pin pwm block that does not require any cutting. thumb.gif

These ones should get you proper RPM readings with the Aquaero:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/electrical-case-accessories/phobya-4pin-pwm-to-6x-4pin-fan-splitter-pcb.html
http://www.performance-pcs.com/electrical-case-accessories/phobya-4pin-pwm-to-4x-4pin-fan-splitter-pcb.html

Your existing Modmytoys splitters would be ideal for connecting multiple Aquabus devices should you wish to do so. I have a couple of each splitter block for this exact reason.
