And here I am with my 4.6 GHz and no motherboard, just waiting. rolleyes.gif

Soon Spiribro ! btw, do you think a 6600K is enough for a gaming dedicated rig ?

edit: omg, we're definitely a posse !

You and me both, funny how we both got engineering sample RVE10's haha. So much for being "first". biggrin.gif

Haha, I do have surveillance cameras (one on the front porch) and also night binoculars when I need to "go commando" . ph34r-smiley.gif

We went to Panda Express today its like Chinese fast food, and had Pacific Chili Shrimp. It's pretty cheap eats 2 people can eat for $18 and lots of food left over and brought home for later.

Not Too Shabby, and the restaurant was new, right off the interstate, you know so they can get all the interstate business people travelling down to Miami and such.

.

Hope your experience with PE is consistently better than my last experience. I went to the Mall in Santa Rosa years ago, and their food was simply way too greasy and it was cold. It was my Friend's order and she took one bite and pushed it away. I promptly took it to the counter and got her money back. From then on I stopped eating at PE. Incidentally I ordered BK Whopper that day and ironically I've stopped going in there cause they have no problems putting core lettuce on their sandwhiches. That's the stalk portion. NOBODY deserves to be expected to eat that garbage but BK gets me with it just about every time I've ordered a sandwich from them in both Vancouver and Yakima in the last two years. We had lots of hospital trips over that span culminating with the birth of my Son. It got so bad that I won't even visit the local BK at all now.

They lost a seriously good customer. I'd been eating Whoppers since I was a kid in Texas. That's a lot of brand loyalty since I used to lunch at the El Camino Real location in Palo Alto CA when I was in High School too. Every day, rain or shine. They have a 49ers shrine in there too. thumb.gif

Definitely! I'm using the previous i5 gen of your chip (maybe even two gens back) in my current build and I get 80-150 fps in WoW at 6044x1200 resolution with everything on Ultra. Especially with 3-way and 4-way systems not being supported this time around, the 28 and 40 lane PCIe lane benefits of x99 are not as critical for gamers.

Just make sure you have have adequate cooling if you're going to overclock your chip for it's true performance potential. I haven't air cooled in a while, but the NH-D14 I used on my 2600k allowed me to hit 4.8 GHz 24/7.

Gaming tends not to benefit from hyperthreading and additional cores, so you could certainly save the money you'd spend getting to the i7 and put that towards a saucy new GPU instead.

If it's not enough for you then I will gladly accept your castoffs. Not that I need them, since I still have my 1100t atm and can't afford to upgrade to the DDR4 RAM cycle. But that 6600k should spin circles around my 1100t which is no slouch for gaming. biggrin.gif

OH! And you guys be da Crew I be da Posse. Think of me as wannabe Rat Pack member Peter Lawford. cool.gif
