I am Buying this Monitor - Its Final Now...(EDIT:XB271HU Bought) - Page 2

I liked the Acer Predator XB241H you mentioned but it is 60hz and 144hz matters for me...if it would have had 144hz I would definitely purchased it, as for ASUS MG278Q its very nice and has Qhd with 144hz, but it has free sync right? I have Nvidia GTX 690 card... will I be able to use the free sync since I am green? is it worth the $50 I will pay more than the Benq?

Also Please consider that colors somewhat matter to me also, and I heard the benq one is near to IPS quality is it true?

I know nothing about the monitors and whats worth it so please guide me what to go for considering that I will use it for

1: Main for Dota 2
2: Second for CS:GO
3: for all games :/ Dark souls 3,battlefields,cod's, gta 5, etc
4: and for watching movies as well, HD movies etc
5: this is not for photo editing, photoshop etc, so please do not consider that

and would love 100+ FPS with not necessarily ulta settings in games, high would be nice too, but 144hz is a must...

AFAIK the XB241H is a 144Hz monitor and can OC to 180Hz. Where did you see it was a 60Hz?

No, you can't use Freesync with a Nvidia GPU.

oh that one is nice too, but they have free sync, I wish they had g-sync :/ , I will not use free sync then would it still be good to buy for all other features such as colors, quality, etc because cheaper means getting less right? or not?

Seconded,
I have 3 of these, they are awesome monitors, never once been disappointed by them.
Also, mine are the non-g-sync versions, which are considerably cheaper than the g-sync models, if you can still find them around

You get all the features except for gsync. They are supposed to have a gsync version also.

The Acer XB241H 24" Predator has 1 HDMI port and 1 Displayport...but my GTX 690 does not have displayport, it has mini displayport 1.2 so it will not work right? I mean to get 144hz I will have to use the displayport...which I don't have I guess...can I get 144hz if I use a displayport to dvi-d convertor?

Guys with some research and reviews I have considered the ASUS MG278Q Black 27" 144 Hz (GTG) WQHD HDMI Widescreen 2560 x 1440 LED Monitor

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236593

Now I am in a bit of situation so I really need an expert to help me here, according to the specs of the monitor it supports DVI,Displayport 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ok, but my GTX 690 graphics card has two DVI-I and one DVI-D and one mini displayport 1.2, I suppose I can connect the monitor with the help of DVI cable but will get only 60hz and according to the specs the HDMI 2.0 and display port can only support 144hz and that at 2560 x 1440. So from it what I understand is that with my card I cannot support 144hz with this monitor...is it true? please guys help..

My piece of advice would be, if you are going to stick with Nvidia, make sure you get GSYNC. With your GPU and budget, probably better to get a quality 1080p rather than 1440p - unless you are thinking of upgrading the GPU soon.
