Yeh I am with nvidia for a while but since that is a free sync monitor I might consider going with amd after they reveal their new gpu but I would still wait for the tuned versions like MSI,zotac overclocked etc...but for meanwhile I would like to know if my current graphic card gtx 690 can support the monitor above to get 60+ framerates?

For the extra $90, i would probably get this:

http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DG-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1462280407&sr=1-1&keywords=DELL+S2716DG

EDIT

Lol, i already recommended this in the thread earlier - my bad rolleyes.gif

yeh thanks for recommending I did see that monitor, yet again the connectivity is troubling me, this monitor only has HDMI and Display port support where as my Graphics card has DVI-I and DVI-D and Mini display port frown.gif so I suppose it would not connect with my GPU, right?

Well, it would connect with an adapter - but you would probably be limited to 60hz. I think only DP can handle 144hz. Anyway, think of it as futureproof. If you will switch to AMD then obviously this isnt the monitor for you.

EDIT
You might have some limitations with the resolution as well - maybe someone can shed light on this? You can certainly connect to the monitor with an adapter though.

DVI-D should let you run 144 Hz no problem.

Do you know the limitations of using a DVI to HDMI adapter? I thought there were some limitations...

Mini DP? So a Mini DP to DP cable should work, right?

I was going for the Asus MG278QLED because it was available on the tech shop in my city, so I would save on shipping, and can quickly get a replacement incase of any dead pixels...but it says 144hz on 1440p with DP and HDMI only, not on DVI, why is that? is it not DVI-D?
