I posted this in the news thread, but I'll mention it here as well:

On my FuryX, 1080p (I know) Ultra settings, 50% resolution scaling (approx 110% if bar is same as Battlefront scaling bar), I get 100-115 FPS smooth as butter in DX12.

In DX11, it is stuttery mess between 45-70fps. The gains in DX12 are absolutely fantastic I must say. Now, I really need to go out and buy that 1440p monitor before the game is released...

One thing I want to test tonight is the FXAA High vs TAA. in Battlefront, the game defaults to FXAA High on Ultra settings and it actually LOOKS better than TAA. I want to see if that is still the case here, or if they changed something up, because it defaults to TAA on Ultra in BF1.

So you're actually seeing better smoother performance under DirectX 12?

Almost everybody is reporting the contrary.

Any bets that "almost everyone" is also running Nvidia hardware? tongue.gif

AMD. FuryX. There shouldn't be surprise that it is running DX12 better here with DICE and Frostbite.

Edit: Just wanted to say that I haven't read every singe reply out there. Perhaps it is bad on some AMD hardware as well? Not sure how I'm so lucky though. I actually had a downright bad experience with DX11 with stutter and disappointingly low frames. DX12 cleaned that up immediately.

Oh crap I forgot about DX12. I'll try that shortly.

R9 390 in DX11 is doing just fine but I'll take the free FPS if it's there.

That's what I meant.

Even AMD users are reporting that they're seeing worse performance when running on DirectX 12 vs 11.

I'm certainly curious to see how this game is running for other AMD guys. Sounds like DX12 is hit and miss (mostly miss apparently), but it does warn that it is still being developed... so, can't really be upset about it.

Oh no, I have the Beta downloading while I'm at Uni / Work. Don't tell me that my R9 295x2 is going to have awful performance on this game when it consistently gets 100+ FPS in BF4? Why would DICE do that to us? The Frostbite engine has always been so well optimized for AMD...

Also, I saw that Nvidia released a new driver for the Open Beta so will AMD be doing the same?

AMD stuff seems to be working extremely well

I didn't try turning on the DX12 switch, it runs smoother than BF4 in DX11 though. One thing I noticed, I wasn't getting crazy frametime spikes in BF1 like I get in BF4 with my 1070.

My CPU is bottlenecking my gtx 1070 big time in this game, this is the second game now where it happens! Maybe my 3570K @ 4,6GHz is outdated soon? Anybody else have 100 % CPU usage and big drops i GPU usage?

Important note: I play with a 144 Hz monitor.

I just oc'ed my Q9650 from 3.6Ghz to 4Ghz for the first time and it actually increased my minimum fps in BF1 from 31 to 35 on high settings, vsync and hbao on with a 750ti sc. My average is 45 fps. But it usually uses 7.6gb of system ram lol...
