I Can run it in ultra at 4k with the 980sc in SLI. This game is a complete ram hog though. I think the optimization that will come with the release will be an improvement on the ram.

I am averaging 50fps in ultra. In High settings I essentially am at 60 fps nonstop at 2160p.

Certainly am impressed with the game and haven't being doing to bad. I set my 360 controller that I use on pc to run when I press forward on the Joystick (As pushing down, the click to run, is complete garbage)

Here are a couple shots. Never in 1st place, but never in last either.

At 2160p Ultra the game will use 14gb of Ram

At High settings at 2160p the game will use 10-11 gb of ram.. Who Does that??

Game looks great and plays like battlefield for better or worse. Initial thoughts is that the game is not very demanding runs in the mid 70's at 1440p with a single r9 390x, mid 50's at 1800p. It will run well at 1440p on the rx 480/1060, over 60fps without doubt.

Directx 12 appears to working but its definitely not optimized, stutters and has what appears to be reduction in visual quality. I did notice that my GPU was in the 70's temperature wise at Directx 11, but ony in the mid 60's in Directx 12 with both running at 1440p@60fps(vsync). At 1080p the game was running in the 90's with minimums somewhere in the mid 80's.

I would be surprised if the 960/380x cannot run this game at 1080p@60fps. So don't run out and buy a 1070 to play this game if you are not running a 4k monitor or very high refresh rate 1440p monitor.

I just realized that Battlefield 1's in-game graphics now rival (or beat) the original Battlefield 1942 pre-rendered CGI opening scene.

Be amazed at the progress of technology. thumb.gif

First time trying my brand new SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 Fury on a game since installing it a couple of days ago.

Fired up Battlefield 1 after reading all day long how great its performance was on AMD hardware, and to my surprise, it's been a frame skipping mess for me, even when running it on DirectX 11.

Raw performance doesn't seem that bad, minimums in the 50s, average probably around 80 to 90 (Global Setting set at ULTRA, 1920x1080@144Hz, 42% Resolution Scale, Motion Blur at 50%, etc), but the frame skipping is annoying as hell, it's not a constant stutter, but it's definitely noticeable, makes the game hard to enjoy.

- This is on a fresh install of Windows 10 (14393)
- Using AMD's latest driver, 16.8.2
- No monitoring or background apps running.
- Windows Power Options set to High Performance, so no chance of cores being parked.
- ULPS Disabled.

Don't know what to do.

Is there something in-game that needs tweaking that I don't know about?

Thanks.

I'll bet that 2500k is hitting 100% usage like crazy.

Retest in Rush gametype for less players then retest on an empty server.

If the problem decreases then it might be the CPU.

Long live the 2500k, the legend! My 6600k at 4.7 and 3200 mhz RAM is getting worked in BF1.

The 6700k I was using in the closed alpha had zero issues.

Fired up the game again.

Deleted BF1's folder in My Documents to clear caches, etc... Used the same settings as before, but this time with Motion Blur set to 0%.

Now it ran perfectly, on a 64 player server, not a single frame skip/stutter.

I did notice that the first time I fired up the game my Fury had its fans ramp up to absolute 100%, while in this 2nd session, it stayed pretty quiet.

What's up with that?

Ignore the first couple seconds of the match, MSI and the Surplus of ram usage for the beta was messing with it.

Enjoy. A little short clip.

Alright, I think it is time to call it a day. I played for about 4 or 5 hours. Topped out the server on every match I played, maxed out the Medic class and then started on the Assault class, and got to level 25. I think that is a good enough head start for the "full release" tomorrow. Also I have like zero Origin friends so if anyone wants to add me and queue up in BF: 1 my Origin tag is Insanity_Two. I usually play during 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM CST.

Also my initial thoughts on the game are that it plays just like BF4 except in a WWI setting. Personally I am very happy with this. I see no reason for DICE to try and change what isn't broken.

Edit: I also HIGHLY recommend playing with the announcer completely turned off and the soldier voices set to your native language. It makes the game so much more immersive. That announcer is the only thing I don't like about this game!

The i5's do in fact suck wink.gif Average frame rates are only slightly lower than i7's but the minimums are way down.
I have one too, which sucks, I was hoping DX12 was going to help.

This was with dx12 and there were no noticeable difference between dx11 and dx12.

I get a good boost with Vulcan in doom, about 15-20 fps extra. So my conclusion so far is Vulcan > dx12 :-)

All this hype about dx12 and more draw calls, it didn't help in ashes of the singularity either... I guess I'll be buying a 8 or 12 threaded CPU next time
