This is my first build log, so please take it easy on me. Thanks. I love gaming and I love tinkering more. This will be my third build, second water cooled. I do not create content, I don't use cad, hell, I don't even work with computers for a living. I'm a Chef. Between my job, wife, and four year old daughter, I don't have a lot of extra time to do the fun stuff I like to do. But when I do sit down, I want it to be glorious! Hence the name, Project Irresponsible!!!
Probably gonna do some editing as being my first log. Honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to making a build log.

But I do want to say a couple quick things for a peacefully build log. I am always open to ideas as that is how we learn. But, do not tell people how to spend there money. You know who you are, and we cant stand it. This will be a expensive project. I know. I bought the stuff. And I don't care if you can build it cheaper. These are the parts I want to use this time, and next time, I will probably use different stuff. Lets just keep it fun and not into a pissing contest. Agreed? OK:thumb:

The tubing at this point is undecided, because i keep going back and forth on acrylic and glass. Leaning towards glass....today.

I guess this is were I list my parts:

So I got done with my previous build, and two days later the itch started. I want to build another. I kinda want a six core base that I can add new gpu to. So this is kinda my big bad boy for me. I will be building a Lan rig and a htpc later, to help with the itch.
I saw an sma8 two tone, gunmetal exterior, black flex Bay, Io port, and interior and thought it was gorgeous. The gentleman used blue for accent color. I'm not a big fan of blue.
So this started as a joke at work with my buddy, who is my best friend for 15 years. Is said I should buy that same case, same color config, but fill it with green and call it the deathstar, cause that's no moon. Ha.
After configuring 1287 different ways to fit it in my s8, with multi rads, hdd, and silent, I decided to just pull the trigger and buy gods pc case. I'm glad I did, but my God is it big. Like I know it was big, but seeing it in person, it's f_@&(#; enormous. I want to ride it in to battle. But it has grown on me, no pun intended. More to come.

Just throwing a pic up. I have a lot to write to catch up on.
This is the razer mamba tournament edtion chroma, and a ducky shine 5 rgb (blue switch), customed painted to match the case. I think they came out awesome!!!

I like to use vinyl carpet dye for plastic. Comes in a spray can. It was not my idea. I watch a vid on how to paint pc parts on Tech Syndicate.
I tried it after tring regular spary paints and was never really happy with the outcome. But the vinyl carpet dye sprays like paint, but finishes more like stain. Hard as hell to remove, but will retain the original texture of the original surface And it is far more weather proof.

It's just perfect!!!

Big. Haven't ran them yet. But they look and feel solid. 60mm multiport. Low fpi. Research shows the sr2 performs best for low speed fans. Ek's have a high fpi. Rated best for higher speed fans. But I want it quiet. So for low, they say sr2s are the best there is. Fingers crossed.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay or it? I was thinking of getting one now from ppcs because of 8% off discounts. The GTS I have is good, but destroys my flow.

The io shield is a piece of crap. So I decided to paint it. That's when the painting bug started.

I mean seriously, who says that looks ok for a flagship board. So a painting we will go.

And next came time to void some warranties. Time for the e on the heat sink. This took a couple tries. I screwed up and tried to touch up a spot by hand. Which never works. Removed the heat sink and started from scratch.

Now I'm happy with it.

A job requirement for a Chef is obsessive compulsive. If its not perfect, through it out and start over!

Guess I'm kinda hard on myself sometimes, but the drive to strive for perfection has carried over into my pc builds. Not a bad thing. Its a ton of fun.

Past update:

So I installed the aquaero and notice the side mounts were silver and throwing things off.

Time to paint!

There not perfect 10 out of 10 match, but there close enough that it wont be an eye sore. Gonna get some 4 pin female connectors to cover the unused ports to black it out. And I want to individually sleeve 4 pin fan extensions. That should be fun.

But I beat it would look awesome.

Quick progress.

So I can't think of how many man hours I thought about the configuration of the front flex Bay. To many variations.
So, there is in total 13 bays to play with. I have an aquaero that takes up one Bay. I need to fill 12 bays. Hmmm. The mid plate aligns in the middle of the 4th Bay from the bottom. If you remove it, it's a big hole. If you leave it in, you can only fit a blank. I have a 140.2 rad mount that chews up 7 bays, need to fill 5.
One triple and two single Bay covers?
One triple and one double?
How bout one single at the bottom, then a triple, then two 140 mounts. A single 140 mount uses 4 bays x 2=8 bays. Hmmm

Seems I can't post any pics now. I'll update later.

Playing with the front

aquaero is going in the top spot, the bottom wont fit with the 560mm rad. And this plate needs to be accounted for.

Man, if I could shave an inch off that plate, I could fit a 120.4 and fill the whole front with 12 bays.

Plate, meet air shears.

And I did pretty good for my first time, filed it flat, painted the raw edge, and scratched it in the process.

Looks like its a rough draft
Unless I use a single solid at the bottom, then a triple solid, then a 140 rad mount x 2. Here I go again.

But the full front does look good too.
