It doesn't appear to have usb3.1 and possibly other features; is it worth upgrading the board to something like an x99 ASUS PRO board OR should I simply wait for the new series of the successor CPU chips to release of the 5820k?
Will the new successor chips of the 5820k still be lga2011 socket? They will be called Broadwell-E correct?
Do you plan to use any of those new features soon? if not it probably wouldn't hurt to wait.
Yes they are broadwell-E.. the leaked skus are the i7-6800K (6 cores), 6850K (6 cores), 6900K (8 cores), 6950X (10 cores).. they are supposed to still be X99 compatible and use the 2011-v3 sockets
There should be some X99 refresh boards accompanying the Broadwell-E chip releases. I would wait and see what those offer. X79 + Ivy Bridge-E did the same thing.
The X99A GODLIKE GAMING CARBON has a DHX99 PCH, which is the only X99 (and the only stepping of that chipset) ever released, paired with the third-party ASMedia ASM1142 and ASMedia ASM1142AE USB 3.1 controllers (which are available on PCI-E cards and will perform identically on a PCI-E card).

I have not heard of any totally new chipset meant for Broadwell E. Only X99, and revised freshed versions of the X99. And the only thing I have seen new in the revised boards are Usb 3.1 and U.2 ports. Nothing earth shattering.
