2k 144Hz Gsync vs 4k 60Hz Gsync? - Page 2

Some of that is my opinion and some is the opinions of others of course.

Monitor size can be a huge factor here too.
This is true. Just like IMO, refresh rate > screen size > resolution.

For many years I was happy with my Apple 1440p monitor since at the time it had the best gaming performance for a 1440p monitor, but nowadays I would even pick a 1080p monitor with 144hz over that.

Hopefully they gouge us a little less with the next wave of monitors now that DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b are out.

If it wasn't for the insane price, I'd get the X34 myself. If money isn't an issue for you, that'd be the one to get IMO (if you don't want to wait).

For gaming I find my 21:9 display to have way more eye candy then my 4k monitor lol

Oh yea. The x34 is pretty beast. I felt sick pressing the buy button on mine, but, can say it's worth the asking price for an all around great system usage experience. For pure gaming, then you'd likely do better with the XB271HU or something since it has lower input lag and higher refresh.

Would be nice if this x34 where higher refresh. Though I can live with 100hz since most games I play won't come close to that. More like 60's - 80's. There are games I play that could use a higher refresh. L4D2 and Shadow Warrior come to mind. Both of those games hit the 100Hz of the monitor with easy and then uses Vsync instead of Gsync. redface.gif

Yes. It's not gimmicky. The picture is gorgeous, and that's with a 50hz LG.

I'm looking to get the Asus ROG 3440x1440 100hz.
