Important bios settings:

BCLK 190.9
Boot performance mode: max non turbo performance
FCLK: 400mhz
Turbo boost:disabled
Dram: 2481mhz
Dram voltage 1.3v
Cpu voltage: 1.325v
Cpu load-line calibration: Level 1
VCCSA voltage 1.2v
CPU c states support: Enabled
CPU C3: Disabled(If enabled the pc freezes during windows startup)
Package C state support: Enabled
Pcie1 link speed: Gen3

Some c states doesn't seem to work because of the multiplier is allways on x22 full speed in windows. But if i enable C3 state the pc will freeze before login in windows.

No, I spoke with a swedish person that got the qhqg. He was using even a higher bios, beta, than mine. So asrock didn't block es in kaby lake as I was affraid of. The multiplier only goes to x22 (can't change it/see it in bios) but still i could overclock higher with it. 4.2ghx with 1.325v atm. I can post my settings in bios soon. But im not sure if the cpu is 100% stable. Wasn't stable at 1.320v so.
Even if I raised my memory from 2481mhz to 2483mhz the pc won't boot. So it seems to be important to find the ultimate settings for the ram speed.

I will post my settings soon smile.gif

I have done a modded bios but it won't flash it without the programming tool on the russian website that i can't get to work.

OK well I tried to flash the file we modified with the microcode in the Asus UEFI bios using the Asus EZ flash utility 3.0. Said the file was not a UEFI bios file. I'm at a loss here, not sure if i should just try and post my specs and settings or get help to reach 4.0ghz using the official asus bios. I've never messed with ram voltages or timings before so I don't have experience to know what not to do and what is safe levels. For anyone who is just reading this now I challenge thee to figure out how to use the flash programming tool from inside windows. I'm trying to use a modded bios from a russian website. You can translate it using google translate. My board is the Asus Z170A I have a QHQG L501 processor with Q0 stepping. This is the link to the russian website. Note: You'll have to disable your adblockers to visit the site. https://forums.overclockers.ru/viewtopic.php?p=14378504#p14378504

Somebody must know a way to get this modded bios to work version 2202 using the flash programming tool. If anyone has an idea or knows please don't hesitate to reply!!!thumbsupsmiley.png

Well I just tried to flash the bios file you and me modified with the microcode from inside theAsus UEFI bios using the Asus EZ flash utility 3.0. I formatted the flash drive in fat32 before I put the file on it, I hope that's the correct way. I got this message "This file is not a valid UEFI bios". I'm at a loss here. I'm not sure if I should just try and overclock using the official bios. I've never messed with RAM voltages or timings before. I'm not really sure what the safe levels are for RAM voltages and timings. For anyone who is just reading this comment now; I'm trying to flash a modded bios for my QHQG L501 engineering sample chip( Q0 stepping). My board is the Asus Z170A. The problem me and others are running into is using the flash programming too :doh:l. If anyone knows how to get this tool to work let us know. I'm trying to flash the modded .ROM bios file Version 2202 for the Asus Z170A. Thank you.

Hello guys. This is my first non-K oc on ASRock Z170 mobo. With SkyOC, cache frequency adjustment is not possible (in my P7.20 bios)

If cache clock is ring clock, why HWiNFO64 report differently?

Prime95 1344k for half an hour. Max package temp = 64°c
Cinebench = 715cb. Temp while cinebench = 72°c
(FYI, my ambient is 33°c)

Can you instruct me on how to use this? I have two files right now. One moddified .CAP that you and me changed the microcodes in. The other file is the original Russian .ROM bios.

Cheers,

I've read some posts and are more confused than before. I switched from a QH8G to a QHQG. With the QH8g I managed a clockspeed of 3350 MHz without voltage settings just by BCLK oc on a modded 1.90 Bios on a AsRock z170m Pro4s.
After the change to QHQG, I managed to bring up a BCLK OC to 150 and total speed of 3300 MHz and can't surpass this line.
As I can see, some of you were able to beef it up to 3.7 easily but I can't figure out how.
I have a single RAM 8 GB 2400 and I am using the official BIOS 7.0 from AsRock and a oc is possible but not higher than a 150 BCLK.

Can some one be so nice and may post the BIOS settings or post any BIOS save files?

Thanks in advance.
OK, after playing around a little bit I was able to push the BCLK to 160 @ 3520 MHz. I just figured out, that I can't really set the RAM clock speed properly. I changed it on stable running BCLK 150@ 3300 MHz to 1200 MHz of available 2400 and than changed the BCLK. However, the boost to 170 BCLK doesn't work in a stable manner.
I am not really able to change the RAM speed. It jumps up to different other speed steps and crashes immediately.

Any tips?
