Has anyone had any luck getting a Q0 to run on one of these two motherboards:
Maximus VIII Gene
Maximus VIII Ranger
The ranger does not have a bios on the korean or russian sites so presumably it would not work, while the Gene does (which was unverified)

Update for my current status on testing QH8F with Gigabyte Z170M-D3H DDR4

using F5 BIOS,
I can only boot into windows properly with RX 480 4GB/8GB. Tried with 1050Ti, the screen freeze at windows logo.
Everything on the Splash screen worked except going into BIOS setting.

Now, I modded my F5 BIOS with the russian website guide, its pretty simple and straight forward. Flashed everything, and it work perfectly now.
with modded F5 BIOS, I can confirm that QH8F worked with 1050Ti, and even HD 5570. Now I can go into BIOS settings, overclocked to 3.6 Ghz and its pretty stable.

If you have a random Motherboard that support this ES with official BIOS and you can boot into windows, I encourage you to mod the BIOS if you want more performance out of this hidden beast tongue.gif

Perfect! Glad to hear that!

So yeah if you can boot windows, you're most likely good to go, just like I thought smile.gif

I've had a QHQG since around Christmas and have been running it on a Z170 Extreme4 at 3.8GHz since day 1. It has been absolutely stable since then with only one minor flaw. Occasionally the OC fails and the PC will either auto-reboot itself or boot using the stock 2.2GHz clock. This always seems to happen at cold boot and usually when the PC hasn't been used for a short while. Just going into the BIOS and reloading the OC profile fixes it though.

It has never once crashed during BM tests or in-game and I've ran some pretty CPU intensive stuff on it (e.g. BF1, Cemu etc). I'm sure I could probably get a higher OC out of it if I tried but 3.8GHz seems fine for my needs.

Hi! I still got the cold boot problem, almost the same thing as you. It's like the oc fails and it reboots a couple of times on startup. Do you have a modded bios?

I use the Korean bios. I'd say the error probably occurs once a month on average and most often after the PC hasn't been used for a few days at least.

@Alfonsg00 At some point in time, one of us will try to mod the F6 bios eventually tongue.gif

Yes, im close to do that. I read on "http://hwtips.tistory.com/1607": when the modified BIOS is not used is as follows.

1. Initialization failure due to high non-turbo-max during first boot
2-1. Switch automatically to the lowest battery (Max. Battery) → After entering Windows, use OCT (A-Tuning)
2-2. Initialization failure even during secondary boot
3. Initialization failure even during 3rd boot
4. BIOS initialization (boot failure) due to 3 times boot failure

I don't know if i add the microcode to the bios, will i get those features too or do i need to add them in another way?.

Don't know what they mean with max battery but it's translated from korean to english.

Even though the translations aren't perfect it still surprises me how much better they got over the years. That aside, our symptoms are different from the ones mentioned but it shouldn't hurt trying thanks to the Dual bios gigabyte implemented
I am gonna try tonight or tommrow and see how things go in my end
