Like Buris said, there is no way you'll get your hands on an EVGA GTX 1070 or similar for $399. The more realistic value is $450, so if AMD can truly offer similar performance in the $300 range I believe it will be the much smarter purchase. I realize some people may say it's better to wait a few months for Vega and 1080 Ti, but that's how the pc gaming world is, there's ALWAYS something better coming out in a few months. If you take a look at my rig you'll notice I'm still running an AMD HD 6870. So virtually any card I buy right now will be a huge upgrade lol. I'm done waiting, this is my time to shine and I'm choosing Polaris.

edit: Also, don't take too much stock in 3dMark and Firestrike scores. They give a general idea of the card's performance, but it's much better to wait until launch and see the card's performance in real world gaming.

P10 wont give actual 1070 level performance

LoL forget 1070, it won't even give 970 level performance.

or maybe close to 970 level at best.

Not the cutdown version, but I guarantee the full Polaris 10 will beat it easily. The point is that Nvidia priced themselves out of the mainstream budget with this $450 1070 and if P10 can come within 10% of its performance at ~67% of the cost then you don't need to be a mathematician to determine the best price:performance value.

Did you not see this thread?

It's above 970 and 980 at least.

How 'bout we just wait and see... it's only another day to a week. Sheesh, I don't even care about leaks anymore, the last two weeks of non-stop nV circle jerking has literally drained any enthusiasm I had this cycle. sleepysmileyanim.gif

The waiting is killing me though. I want either a 1080 or some high end Vega card, but that waiting time ;(
Also pretty sure that the new "medium end" Polaris 10 cards are supposed to beat out a 1070 or at least get very close to eat, like 10% ish range. At 3 to $400 that's amazing to shake up the market dominance of Nvidia.
