Thanks for checking out the thread. If rumors are true, there is a chance I'll get a shipping notice tomorrow. Once it arrives, the build will go pretty quick. Hoping to get it all done over a week or so. Best laid plans and all that . . .

Stop that right now. Stinking thinkin. You're a painter now. A professional. Get it together. A little time and patience goes a long way thumb.gif

Still no shipping info. Hope to find out this week. I got paid this week, so placed what I'm hoping is my final order at Performance PCS today - AQ 6 Pro, AQ high flow meter, a couple of bitspower 90 rotary fittings, and a few other bits and bobs. I had to order a temp sensor from ModMyMods as everywhere else was sold out. I've never used them before, but they sent me a notification and tracking info in under 15 minutes . . . crazy fast. I'll keep them on my radar for the next build.

All told with shipping to Alaska (which is often crazy high) for everything including the new case, I'm in this project for about $900-$1000. I'll be looking at spending about that again around the end of the year for new PC internals and GPU water blocks. So pretty much on budget for what I figured at the start. I could have saved $300 or so if I didn't upgrade to the aquearo, but it's a good buy and will look good in the case so I'm happy.

Anyway, I'll update again when I have something to show.

Welcome to the log niklot.

At this point, I have everything ready and waiting for the case to ship. I can't show much until that happens as I'll be transplanting my main rig and I don't want it to be down until the case is in hand. Hoping the Orange cases hit the shipping line up soon.

Monsoon has released some new CCFL tube plugs that fit G 1/4 ports. They come in various 50 mm increment sizes. You can find them at http://www.performance-pcs.com/brand--monsoon/res-accy-type--lighting/. I had hoped to pick up an orange tube kit for my res to allow the frosted bits on the outer res tube to glow orange. Turns out orange isn't too popular so it isn't offered.

Here is what the 200mm UV bulb and plug look like:

I briefly considered going with a coolant dye and then doing a white or a UV ccfl in the center of the res. Call me old school, but using dyes is a no go for me if I can help it. So I'm going to try what I hope to be a pretty simple mod to their product. This product comes in two pieces. The first is the outer acrylic tube itself that is attached to a G 1/4 pass thru fitting basically (brass fitting in pic). Then you can screw on the black fitting that has the CCFL tube attached.

I am going to use the brass fitting and tube, but replace the CCFL with a Darkside LED strip instead. I put an order in for this 200 mm UV CCFL plug which will give the clear tube. I'll then mod the black fitting to remove the ccfl and wiring, then add a 7.75" Darkside Orange LED strip. The tube measures out at 208 mm which is about 8.2" so the strip should fit just fine. I don't see any issues with this on paper. This product and this mod will allow folks to add watertight tubes into the center of any res / device with a G 1/4 port and put in the LED / RGB LED of their choosing. It opens up a lot of options for people I think.

One the parts come in next week, I'll get some pics up while the case shipping wait continues. Thanks for being patient and hanging with me during the wait. It will be worth it.
