Seasonic X-1250XM2 Shut Downs.

Hi.

I have huge problem with 3 WAY SLI TITAN X and Seasonic X-1250 XM2.

When i play games, PSU just shut down. Tying differents combination of PCI-E to PSU connection, always same problem.

Marketing information claims Seasonic X-1250 Xm2 have one 12v rail, but reviews

and users say, this PSU have 4 separate rails like XFX -1250 (Same PSU as Seasonic).

Plz help, how configure this to work without shut downs.

I just buy 3rd TX for , 500$ biggrin.gif

It's likely either the PSU is defective or it's overheating.
Is the PSU getting a good supply of cool, outside air?
Does the PSU fan spin up to full speed?

I contact with my friend, professional overclocker, he told me about OCP in Seasonic PSUs...

This is problem...

And when i'm lower OC on my GPUs from 1400/7600 @1.187v to 1354/7600@1.160 v. Problem solved...

LOL, 1250W Seasonic PSU and behave like this...
Sounds like you are overloading one of the rails causing OCP to kick and shut the PSU off.
Either you have to live with lower overclocks or you are going to have to get a single rail PSU.

Yes, i think one rail is overloaded. I trying, and trying different cable connections, nothing work.

Even with lower overclock, i have problem.

Run GTA V 4k ultra + MSAAx2 , nice 80/90 fps and after 30 sec of playing, shut down biggrin.gif

plug in a kill-a-watt and measure how much power you are pulling at the wall. you could very well be overloading your power supply, especially if you are overclocking and increasing power limit of your video cards. I had 2 Titans (the kepler version, 780 ti) and with 6-core 3930k i7 going full bore and both gpus in furmark, i was pulling 1200 watts at the wall.

With 5960x 8 core and 1 gtx 980 both going full bore, 800 watts at the wall.

Before placing the blame on the power supply, actually get a power figure on how much you are drawing. You have no idea until you get a tool that measures this within a reasonable amount of error. Kill-a-watt is 20 bucks. Buy one. Just solely from my 2 Titans power figure experience, i'd be getting a 1500-1600 watt PSU to not be limited by power delivery. But spend the 20 bucks on a kill-a-watt first before blindly submitting an unnecessary RMA or blowing $500 on a new power supply until you are absolutely sure.

Just note that power from the wall is not what the system uses as you have to take the efficiency of your PSU off the wall numbers.
If you are getting 1200 watts from the wall the system is using about 1080 watts with 90% efficiency.

Yes, I know that. That's why I was comfortable pulling 1400 watts 24/7 at the wall with a rosewill lightning-1300 back when GPU bitcoin mining was a thing tongue.gif

My setup pull from the wall 1060/1090 W with 3x GPU OC max utlilization. With platform all OCed.

I have shut downs and cant do anything, 1250W PSU shut down with 1060/1090 max load, cause Seasonic default silly OCP.

I try even this funny cable mangament (*** with this?!) and dosent work.

If you still have problems why not get a single rail PSU instead?
