I can still feel the sting of Bulldozer...
I think all of us can. We had waited since the Core architecture from Intel for AMD to make something competitive and they just haven't. I, Like many, had held my breath and bet everything on Bulldozer and lost heavily. I had to scrap an entire build and go to the 2600k I have now (it has lasted me 5 years.) I think most people that were around for that are going to be pretty leery of anything AMD claims until it comes out and the benchmarks repeatedly say it's true.
I certainly didn't go with Zen. I am simply waiting on BW-E to go pick up my processor and start my new build. I don't have the time or inclination to wait on AMD anymore and most enthusiasts don't even bother with AMD.
The problem then becomes when non enthusiasts decide to make builds. Enthusiasts are who they typically turn to for advice. I won't even deny that I have recommended locked i3 and i5s over AMD processors for years now. I simply don't trust AMD to perform.@2010rig
