Yeah, I'm more of a historic Total War Fan. Maybe I'll get this game a chance. Can't wait to try out the Dwarf faction.

Empire was my favorite, with Medieval II a close 2nd, but this game has been a blast! I think having the same Total War game mechanics with a fantasy overlay is really fun to play/see. Unless someone has bought these games in the past primarily for the historical value, I think any Total War fan will really enjoy this game.

Edit: Also, I would LOVE to see a LOTR mod made for this game by the community. I was watching Lirik stream a humongous battle the other day with LOTR soundtrack music on and it was EPIC!

I was just about to say, this reminds me very much of The Battle for Middle Earth 2 games.

Yeah, that was my first thought on my initial playthrough. Especially since I was playing as the Dwarfs. I really loved those games, too, so that probably has something to do with this game getting big points with me.

Freakin Chaos man! It doesn't matter how stacked my regions are, once chaos starts marching, they literally burn down the entire northern part of the map and continue on through, like its nothing... Their heroes drive me crazy and a 3 army stack with all of their legendary lords, just lay waste to everything. It pretty much wipes out a 150 turn game, in less than 10 turns.

Wow, that intense huh? I haven't made it that far, but it seems like they're quite the problem. I've had a ton of fun so far!

well that is going to suck, i'm at turn like 110 and Chaos just started turning up. I wasted their stacked army the first time, but ever since the greenskins started stacking their armies with trolls and giants its getting pretty tough to keep up. Also playing as Dwarfs I command such a huge region it's hard to keep the borders in check because it is so large

Just crossing turn 120 on my Dwarf campaign, and Chaos and the vamps are starting to hit me hard from the north. I've got smooth relations with most empire factions, and I wiped out the last greenskin a couple turns ago. I figured the south was safe now that i own it all, and moved all my armies up north to deal with chaos and the vamps . . . and then norsca ships arrived in the very south of the map. Ships . . . SHIPS! I didn't know they had freakin' ships. They'v started to just walk thru the south uncontested as my armies are all 5-8 turns away now. Oh the joy of TW games lol.

For the longest time I skipped the settlement upgrades to having garrisoned watches, but it has saved my tush more than a few times now.

I normally build walls in every settlement that is close to a "front line" for that very reason. I just assumed (wrongly in this case) that once the greenies where wiped out that the south would be safe. Had no idea Norsca had ships they could use. Live and learn though heh.
