I'm almost always on the Discord server that was setup for this game, and yah basically in-game VOIP is what I use, besides AXE (you know what you've done) and 1-2 other people that don't actually have mics everyone I group with uses the in-game. I'm pushing for Discord for the better talk-sensitive options vs Overwatch's but that'll come in time.

Objectively speaking Teamspeak pales in comparison to Discord's versatility, aesthetics, and intuitiveness.

So I made an interesting discovery today... I have been noticing that my ping and RTT on overwatch are pretty high. My RTT is usually around 250MS and it was getting pretty annoying. I made a guess and added the overwatch server IP to the exclusions list in malwarebytes monitoring and added the overwatch exe and folder to the exclusions list in my AV software... Launched the game and now my RTT is consistently below 60MS. Seems like that has completely fixed my latency issues. I will be testing more tonight but I figured I would give everyone a heads up and maybe someone can confirm if this helps them or not.

I would disagree with that. Only things Discord does better is the persistent chat lobby, and joining via web URL without anything installed (although the options in web client suck). Teamspeak's lobbies seem much better for giving out information and links, I can't remember even seeing an information pane in discord's lobbies... but maybe the discord's I've joined have just been poorly admin'd.

The Funko pops? I bought the reaper from a local game store and I got the Pharah from Blizzard's store. No D.va at the moment.

See the group I'm in uses TeamSpeak and I'm spoiled. When I'm not playing with them I try to use in-game voip but no one responds to me frown.gif

Then you just need to set a mute button in case you need to sneeze or something, and just talk whenever you want to talk.

I'm spoiled by TeamSpeak. Been using it with my gaming community/group since BF2.

Yeah I guess different places do things differently. The Subaru forums I'm on rarely use any VOIP frown.gif They use TS here and there.

I'll have to add the OCN TS server to my favorites.

I think Overwatch's in game VOIP is really poorly set up. If you are in a group, by default you are put into a group chat room that can't hear the team chat. If you do want to be able to talk to the randoms on your team that aren't in your group, you have to hit "p" and switch to the team chat. Then you have to hope they did the same thing, as they could be in a group themselves.

Once the next game starts, you have to switch channels again... making it rare for a majority of the team to even be in the in-game team channel, and thus making the voice chat mostly useless. Makes me wonder how many people don't realize this, and are yelling to themselves on the mic when the team doesn't listen.
