Although, to be fair, they were probably nobody special in CS:GO (I don't keep up with the CS:GO scene). Cloud9 is the best right now. Reaver is probably the best widow in the game and it's always fun watching him play.

IMO, the scene is too small right now and largely uninteresting. There's just not enough people who are good at the game yet. I am not crazy about "pro scenes" forming when games are still in BETA (as has happened in this game). It's kind of stupid, imo. Yeah, I get it, some TF2 people came over and TF2 is a very similar game (I think the Cloud9 roster came from TF2 which might explain their dominance right now), but some of the pros in Overwatch have little experience at all in games like this and are frankly very average at the game. Just because you were a pro in CS:GO doesn't mean you'll instantly be good at Overwatch. Better than the average Joe, sure, but not necessarily at a pro level. I am not saying OW takes more skill than CS:GO or other shooters, but am just saying it's a different game and takes a different skill set. It's more strategy and team coordination than it is pure 360 no scope ability like in most shooters.

Overwatch is just like LoL or DOTA in many ways --you have to know the heroes, what they do, and how to counter them. You have to realize that one guy on your team usually can't win the game for you. It's rock, paper, scissors in OW whereas it's not really that way in most pure FPS games. In games like OW sometimes you're just going to get shat on when you are countered and there's nothing you can do about it. MOBA's allow hero picks and bans to give the players some ability to avoid being hard countered before the game starts. With OW, you can be countered at any time since it doesn't have a ban system and since heroes can be changed mid game. I can see a lot of former FPS people having a hard time adjusting to that. I would be interested in seeing pro LoL or DOTA teams come over (there may be some, I don't know).

What I'd like to see more though are some amateurs rise from the upcoming ranked scene and get sponsored. And hopefully Blizzard comes up with ways to make more maps viable in competitive (right now the pros only play the payload maps). Also, they need to give us much better spectating options if they want the scene to grow because right now it's kinda crap. Thankfully Jeff Kaplan (Blizzard's lead Overwatch guy) has said they are working on both of these issues.

(I don't know how I got off on this rant. It's late. I apologize).

Cheers, loves.

Who's on this CS:GO team?

Pretty much every OW Pro team as the moment has at least 1-2 CS:GO pros. Cloud9 has a semi-pro Grego.

The problem with dlc characters is unless they have several, everyone will use the same person for a few weeks.

i dont mnd how the dlc characters are released, but if i were to guess, it'd be in batches. 1 per class. I'm actually more excited for the map/character dlc than the competitive mode. Hopefully we get some info after the comp patch is released.

Yes I think 1 per class is the best solution. Yes we'll see mainly new characters in games for a bit, but at there will be class diversity.

Characters, maps, ranked, bring it all! I'm looking forward to it 😃

Yep, in the MOBA's I played I always avoided playing for a few days after a new champ/hero/god was released.
