I love my 598's... but I will try these out for the money.

Trying mine right now, sound amazing. I won't get to side by side with my 598's for a while though.

I think I'll try to convince my brother he needs these, so cheap for what they offer. biggrin.gif

I must say this once....

SHP9500 arent greater than the HD60p or even the HD598.

I think people are over glorifying them.

I have a pair and been in the headphone game for 2 years already so I know a thing or two about being an audiphile.
I own many mid-fi headphones and simply put the 9500 below the HD598 and especially the HD600.

The 9500 are just a special kind of breed of which it could be known for being a great budget can.

If you guys head over to head-fi.org, you can find the SHP9500 thread there and follow what people say about them.

There is also a thread for people that want to know more about headphone and gaming, especially when using virtual surround sound with headphones.

Given that I used the shp9500 for a month and a half or so....they are great for fps games if you need to spot your enemies footsteps. Imaging is great but the small soundstage really is a trade off since I had a hard time determining how far or close the enemy was like in games like BF4 or even counter strike (not as much in CS, since the maps are smaller)

As for music...they are pretty good for most genres except for bass heavy music like hip hop or EDM in general....those genres will not sound fun with these headphones....

So lets not send misinformation about these headphones and give the correct information to the members of these forums.

Who said they're better than an HD600 or HD598? They are good for what they are, the soundstage may not be as wide as HE350 or K7XX but those cost much more. For most music they are great but if you're a bass heavy listener it will not be as good. I'm not a big fan of bass booming and blowing up my ear drums so I like my SHP9500. SHP9500 is still way better than in build quality VS Superlux 668B and 681 EVO in the same price range. These headphones are a steal for the price as it's sad this model is discontinued so grab extras if you can.

Ahem...read from the beginning of this thread and see where someone says they are better than the 598 or 600.

But yes, SHP9500 is better than those overrated superlux toys.

That would be me that said that. I stick by it. I just ordered me some STAX though, so all of my old cans will be getting retired. They served me well, I just was sharing a nice budget best bang for your buck deal.
