Has this solved your issue or still flickers?

I've also found that BF:4 doesn't open when using Mantle, it crashes as soon as it loads a map in Multiplayer. Fix for me was to use DX11.

Just curious is your flickering with a single card single monitor or cf and multi monitors?

Single Sapphire TriX R9 290 with dual monitors.

1x Shimian 27"

1x BenQ VW2400.

I've reported this to AMD. I'm sure they're busy, but an update on this would be nice.

It was doing it for me on a single monitor but its an ultrawide and according to most games i play its considered multi monitor so could be why im having issues but i doubt it.

Unless your playing doom or overwatch (if it gets better fps witht he new driver) i suggest just going back. For me 16.5.1 has zero flickers its been a couple days since going back to it.

When someone comes back 4 months later to discuss a driver, they surely don't come to the news section to look for answers!

Example news post:

Title:
New AMD driver 16.xxx.xx released!

Post:
  • highlights
  • download link
  • link to driver forum for discussion

Then freaking lock the news thread.

Problem solved you get your bennies/high fives for being the first guy to post in the news section, and when someone comes to find an answer about a driver, it along with ALL the applicable discussions about it will be in ONE convenient, and LOGICAL place.

You know I am half joking, but I am serious. I love ya man, but jeeeez

I know man. The retardation is real.

Multiple monitors / 1 GPU - Still have the flickering, usually on Chrome watching streams (not ingame thankfully)

Mine was doing it on 16.5.2 on a single monitor, i went back and havent had a single flicker. Def a driver issue seems like at gpu idle since it doesnt happen in games.
