look at gfx score only as the cpu is very old (p55 LOL) and is ready to be put into HTPC mode when the 1080 arries for X99 to come out and play =b
Couple reasons. You have a good card. Have to ship yours in for the step up and pay the difference. Can only step up to the single 8pin 1080, not the FTW, not sure if this is the case.
But I'd also water cool your 980 TI, so since you're on air and staying on air, maybe switch.
If you had the better cpu, your gpu score would be better in 3dmarks. In reality, your 980TI isn't far off from a GTX 1080.
