I looked at the AMP...and thought, why did they put that yellow all over the card? It's bad enough we get the red from MSI, and orange from Gigabyte. lol At least on the G1, most of the orange is underneath and not splattered all over the backplate...lol

I've installed a Kraken G12 and a Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme S in my 1080 Armor. Recommended so far. 47 degrees at load and stable 2114Mhz. Much better than the before configuration of ~1600Mhz and 65 degrees configuration that I had to use to control the temperature.

Well, I was searching on this matter, and it seems the amp, despite featuring a massive cooler, has somewhat of a design flaw and the VRM cooling is not effective.
So I guess the Aorus is the better choice.

Cheers

Are there any decent aftermarket air coolers that would work with my GTX 1080 EVGA Founder's Edition, I want to overclock it but even at stock I'm getting in the high 70s sometimes hitting 80°C. Also would be nice for it to be quieter under load. Not finding a lot of data to compare options.

Currently looking at the ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme III

I would just buy the EVGA hybrid kit, but there is no room in my case to fit the radiator+fan. I have tons of room below my graphics card to get a taller cooler that takes up more pci slots, but not enough room in any other direction. NH-D15 cooler too close to the top of my case to mount a rad+fan, same for the rear exhaust fan mounting. Hard Drive bays and optical disk bays are both riveted to the front and occupied with not enough space between them to rig the rad.

Are there any other coolers I should have my eye on?

Yes there are better ones, such as the prolimatech mk26. I used it on my 1080fe when I owned one and currently on my 1080hof. It’s very large cooler that eats up about 4 slots with 2 140mm fans but it will keep your card in the 50s. Depending on your choice of fans, it can even perform cooler.

Thanks for the lead! Time to actually take some measurements of my case room when I get home.

why not EVGA's own AIO Hybrid cooler? Its quiet and drops temps a lot.

No room for the radiator (my case is small and my cpu heatsink is the NH-D15).

Just put in an order for the Raijintek Morpheus II after reading and comparing several similar products. Also kind glad not to add back in an AiO with a pump after I just replaced one. There's really not much hard data for this kind of purchase, not many people would go through the trouble of putting on an aftermarket gpu heatsink without having already gone full custom liquid.
