I've used both and actually use the Firestorm software that came with my ZOTAC GTX1080 FE. It allows me to raise my power target to 120%. The silicon in each of these cards is probably close. Note: my card is watercooled with an EK block so temps aren't the problem.

What card do you have?

thanks! was going to wait for the evga ftw since it would match my new sabertooth s better, but with no eta, and saw it in stock on newegg i decided to snag it up. it looks really cool. for its size its pretty light but extremely sturdy.

stock speeds are: 1759 core 1898 boost and 10000 memory.

Update on my FTW, it's pretty good. Very stable 1.08v, clock stays locked on. None of the spiky boost frequencies that you see with the FE.

It does 2088 MHz core and 11016 MHZ memory. At those specs, the card settles down at 60C at 50% fan. The fan is a bit louder than I was expecting, but quieter than the FE.

I'd like to see what it could do at 1.25v. Need a new BIOS!

Won't do anything if the voltage limit doesn't ask for more power than what a single 8 pin is capable of providing. Power and temps aren't the issue, voltage is. GPU Boost 3.0 combining voltage along with those two is killing overclocking potential.
