Correct, in theory really only stutters/spikes should be minimized at higher resolutions and FPS. This is due to all the frames being sent over the HB SLI bridge and not spliced together via the SLI bridge and PCI-E bridge which have slightly different traffic/speeds/delays.

Heck, 4K @ 60 Hz may not see much of a benefit. But I would surely expect that 4K @ 120 Hz and 5K at 60 Hz would, in addition to surround. That's where I ran into my 8x vs 16x PCI-E 3.0 limitations.

hey vega... think I could get you to pm me or post the bios from that 1080 FTW you have?

Soldering over the shunts is all I did with my 980.

Thats the real mod you have to do for power.. doing the shunts doesn't help.... Trust me ... Ive already tested it.. smile.gif

PM me if ya want to do it.

Why is your XB270HU at 165Hz? Is there a way to overclock it? Not that I would need it, just wondering. Mine is 144Hz

yes... off topic to say the least.. but so is arguing midrange vs, high end biggrin.gif I have two 980Ti, do you think I should go for the 1080's.... At least 5 times I have added a pair to my cart then deleted at checkout... I am obsessed but know in the back of my mind $1500 is alot to blow for an extra 30FPS when you are hitting 100 already....

Since when did we care about what a single 8 pin was "capable" of providing on overclock.net ? Lol

Surely you and I both know that measly 150w rating is a bit misleading, that spec is really quite old from what I understand. Hell, we have PSU's now with double 8 pin cables coming from 1 connector on the PSU, and people that do XOC are pulling 500w+ through 8 pin connectors without problems.

Best I can do since going under water.. 5933 ultra graphics score.. 2177mhz/5556mhz. Still pings PL a few times with shunt resistor mod. Game stable at 2164mhz with very few drops below 2150 in witcher 3. 55-60 fps in 4k with everything maxed but hairworks AA off.

You sure your not throttling with the shunt mod? Show some gpuz results... the shunt mod should reduce you so you don't hit the limit at all.. In other words... should be ok for 2500mhz.
