[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1080 Owner's Club - Page 169

Getting ready to join the club. Finally snuck an order in on newegg after getting an in stock alert on my phone. So stoked! Ordered the Asus Strix OC. Also got notice the EK waterblock for it will be here on the same day the card gets here! (next Wednesday)

I run Valley in a loop and also run Witcher 3 to check stability.

Man. I'm dying for custom bios to come out. The stock bios is such a limiting factor for my watercooled 1080...

Yeah no kidding, surprised it's going awhile

Hardware unboxed (youtube) and guru3d have both done SLI testing and the basic answer seems to be its sufficiently worth it in about 2/3 of games so long as you are at 1440p and wanting high frame rates or 4k.

That isn't actually that great because the 2x670/680 and 2x 970 crowds both got more than 90% of games showing at least 50% scaling. Its not as good as it used to be but that isn't really SLI's fault its changes in the way games are written.

Interestingly, the Non-X has a different BIOS from the X. The Non-X is sold exclusively to Newegg at the moment. As you can see I can go up to 121 on the power, whereas the X's can only do 107. Both the Non-X and X have the same power phases and 6+8 pin. The Non-X just doesn't come factory OC as much as the X.

I have the fan speed set fixed at 50 percent, or around 1200-1300 rpm. Reaches around 70-73 under load. Even going as high as 60-70 percent fan speed is fairly quiet.

This is the best AIB card, IMHO.

Is a SLI bridge included with the card ?

Indeed, I ordered 2 MSI 1080 Gaming for a SLI and I already own a SLI bridge. If a second one is included, it would replace a HB-SLI bridge.
