ASIC is not supported on the 1080.

So the boost will be the same at both cards? At.y 980Ti the high asic has a better boost

Thanks

How much should I start trying at core and memos? I wanna achieve 2000 in core and no idea in memos, what you suggest guys?

Just got mine straight from NVIDIA. Using 2 ribbon cables atm.

So far just a first push of +112 core and +200 mem. My slider power limit goes up to 120% so I will have to give it a push more than the +50 I have now. I use Astro A50 headphones and have an air conditioner in the window next to me so the fan speed profile of 50c-75c (40%-100% fan) does not bother me. Here is Heaven 4.0 1440p with the first push I stated.

You've been going back and forth for a while in the other thread.

I was almost sure you'll have gone for the ASUS Strixx instead of the FE model, that was a bit surprising since you never mentioned it on the other thread.

A couple of things changed my mind. I had a credit at a local store that was going to waste and they had an Asus FE in stock. Plus with my currently monitor, I can easily max out BF4 and still see 200FPS. I plan to eventually grab the 1440P version of the Z35 when it is released by which time hopefully the 1080Ti will also be out.

I've been calling every computer company in Toronto for the last two weeks and they have zero stock as they are all still filling pre-orders.

Plus I just sold my 980Ti and would be without a video card redface.gif

Just put both of my 980Ti (evga hybrid + msi 6g) on a shelf.. Not sure what to do with them... Sell or give them to my nephews who are visiting next week and hope my brother doesn't try to buy them a pentium processor to go with it..... I am sure there are a lot of sharks circling to get them cheap so don't PM me with BS offers lmao.. If I put them up I will do so in the marketplace at a fair price, just not sure what that is now and can't go by the money grubbers on EBAY.. I at least want to get one of these 1080's worth back if I go that route..... Better do that before AMD drops in a few days though eh... biggrin.gif

So is it normal that games fires at 2100mhz or up and then they drop and run at 2088-2063 Mhz all the time??? I don't think that the cause is because of the temps, I'm hitting 69C on my card @ 90% Fan but I find it weird that it cannot mantain 2100mhz all the time and core fluctuate between 2088-2063mhz on my FE, some games it even drops to 2050mhz for the full game session.

I think certain temperatures are drop points. I found that too. I think when you approach 70 it drops a bit. Totally normal. You really need water or be in the low 60's all the time to avoid the throttling.

Wow I didn't think of that and I guess you are right, I just did a quick test and it actually drops from 2100 to 2088-2076-2063 if the temp change from 68-69-70-71 C. Damn I don't have any cash to go to watercooling right now frown.gif haha

It's trickier than just temps too. I've found that even if the temps are stable you can power throttle. Really pushing the GPU up to its tdp at higher resolutions will make it throttle even if your temps are in check.

Question for anyone on water with these.

I got a 360 and a 240 rad with GT's. 360 is exhaust, 240 is intake. Temps are around 49-50 degrees about after about an hour and a half of valley. Never really seen it go above 50 in a game.

OC'd to 2050. Could probably push that farther.

Anyway my question is if other watercoolers are getting similar temps. My mATX case doesn't make it easy to get great airflow and it's currently negative pressure. Plus my Typhoons are running around 1000 RPM. So I'm fairly certain everything's cool. Just curious though for other watercooled results in general.
