[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1080 Owner's Club - Page 19

Hey guys need a favor from you 1080 sli owners. I'm considering selling my Z170 rig for the new x99 chips for the additional pcie lanes. I'm currently running the Maximus hero viii and when ran in sli the cards drop to x8 from x16 as many are aware. I'm waiting it out for the 1080TI. I'm curious is someone with x99 can do a firestrike run at x16 sli and repeat the run at x8 on both. I'm curious if the new cards will take a harder hit on x8 than the 980ti does. If it's substantial then it will help support my decision to make the jump to x99. Thanks

Which card releasing soon will have extra psu pins, be clocked the highest, and which will have the best air cooling? I am deciding between the Asus Strix, EVGA Classified, Gigabyte Xtreme G

Nice scores, is that the max your card gets? It's about 9% faster than one of my Titan X's at 1480 MHz (my 24/7 setting) in the same benchmark at 1440p.

Classy will defo be far better when it comes to power support with 14+3 power phase. It also features triple vbios and EVGAs super awesome warranty and support. Buuuut, there's no telling really until the cards start to arrive and the end consumers and we get some initial testing and benching.

Don't get complacent, remember to check the card on air first wink.gif. I'm not sure I'll be going water with these personally.
