That's a shame. It seems most people are capable of getting 11000 MHz. I doubt you're missing a whole lot though.

I'll give it a few days to see if it will correct itself before sending it in. (probably won't do anything at all)

This is a major reason as to why I suggest going for a model with an aftermarket PCB. I haven't seen any coil whine complaints for MSI ARMOR/GAMING/GAMING X, EVGA FTW, the new Zotac AMP Extreme, and very few for the Gigabyte XTREME Gaming.

Guys one question

My EVGA SC1080 SLI is something about 20C colder than my 980TI Galax HOF GOC SLi setup

Is this normal or my old galax sli 980ti had some issues in the temps? now it reaches 55C max in the hottest card, the 980ti setuo had 75/80c

The fans is at same speed

tks

normal, the 980 TIs are running around ~300w, while the 1080s are running around ~200w. Big die on old 28nm process vs small die on 16nm process. 1080 doesn't take much to keep cool. Since you live in Brazil, you made a good decision to switch out for 1080s.

On that note, it's funny that the temperatures on my previous MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning (maxed voltage) were slightly lower than my current MSI GTX 1080 Armor 8G, and with a slightly less aggressive fan profile too. And this GTX 1080 never breaks 72c. I think that's a testament to how good the Lightning cooler is, as it's monstrous compared to the itty bitty Armor cooler.

@boredgunner

I hear that cooler was the best on the 980TI generation.

which version of Afterburner? I updated to 4.3 beta 4, if I increase the voltage it does go up, but I believe it also depends on temperature and other stuff as well. But even with increased voltage, I can't seem to go over 1999 clock speed frown.gif.

Also wanted to mention...for those that have MSI Gaming card, I added a fan to the backplate, and on idle my temps dropped from 38c (at 100% fan speed) to 32c. Might help get higher clocks on load.

Is there any news about custom bios to the 1080?

and how about 3xSLI, nvidia has been very back and forward with this ..My knowledge is that the enthusiast key is not possible to get at the moment?
or is there a way?

I definitely agree with you on that. I was wanting a FTW, however due to stock I got impatient and ordered a EVGA SC. I sold my 980s a while back and have been running a since GTX 460 so it's going to painful to go back to it. buttkick.gif

I'll probably just return it after I finish moving houses next week. I'll likely look for a Gigabyte or Asus card after this.
