someone with a 1070 said they dont get this, it might be 1080 only

Im also not sure if windows version matters

its 1080 owners as well. even a few 9xx series owners have crept out too.

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/939358/geforce-1000-series/gtx-1080-flickering-issue/

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/943822/geforce-drivers/announcing-geforce-hotfix-driver-368-51-released-6-17-16-/

it started off with 1080 owners. then when the 1070 was released, 1070 users started to pop up too.

people are not even sure if its a high refresh rate issue as there are now quite a few users complaining about it on 60hz max displays. gsync displays to non gsync. displayport and dvi. single and multi monitor. its completely random. people's "fixes" have been all over the place. some fix it by setting the refresh rate lower. others by setting adaptive or maximum performance in the nvidia control panel. others nothing works.

this has been going on for a little over a month now. last response from nvidia in those threads was july 2nd and they NOW asked people to start posting their displays, graphic cards, and refresh rates. pretty ridiculous on nvidias part.

I have no flickering issues but NVIDIA has a HotFix driver addressing this issue

Im not sure I believe those complains about 60Hz non Gsync monitors flickering on older cards

or at least its another issue .. not sure where it would even come from suddenly and why would a regular 60hz monitor start flickering

however the 1080 + 144hz (Gsync) desktop flicker bug seems to be real

you can set desktop to 120hz and keep 144 for games while waiting for driver fix

Tried installing it on a 1080 , FAILED.

i linked the hotfix (its my second link) and if you read through the hotfix it doesn't fix desktop flickering (only fixes flickering in fullscreen games) and nor does it fix game flickering for a good number of the users who installed it.

i too have a 1080 and haven't noticed any flickering but a good amount have been. nearly a month and 21 pages of complaints in one thread and another 8 in the hotfix thread.

i feel sorry for those who rma their cards or sent back their monitors thinking it was a hardware issue. a few in the main thread have already stated they sent back their cards due to nvidia not making it clear if its software or hardware. with pascal being in short supply they won't be getting replacement cards for awhile....

edit:
also you're not the only one having issues with failing driver installs. a lot of others have been having similar issues along with tdr's.

rolleyes.gif Not sure what to say here, sending a card back bcz. of a bad driver sounds rather rational .
I'm locked to 60Hz run all games in full screen VSYNC on. Single game always had this issue JustCause 3 , 980 and now 1080 flickers .

I am not getting this flicker issue other people are getting with my 1080 / XB270HU, running 368.39. Although I am getting the green / black background bug in overwatch, very annoying..

Got it wink.gif Good to know btw. The MSI GTX 1080 SEA HAWK X makes good use of the Corsair (H55) closed loop liquid-cooling solution.
Now wondering if purchase H55 or H90 will it have a bracket for GPU rolleyes.gif
