also the last latency reading - the hard pagefault - was always high in all my testing, but that may be because I had only 2048-2048 MB paging filesize set (on the SSD where the OS is .. not sure if it should be on the system SSD or on the media HDD) since I have 16GB RAM and I want it to use RAM, not the page file .. I changed it to 4096-4096 now, dunno if it even matters

started GPU-Z render test and after it was running (nothing else was running) and clock was @ 1936 Mhz - started LatMon .. the latencies were 60-150; 165; 190; ~250 (the last pagefault one was high again), didnt go any higher than that .. ran a few minutes, as soon as I stopped render test - core clock went to 240 Mhz again and latencies went up

^ this was again with CPU power savings all still enabled

We have only received one feedback from the original poster. It would help if we had more feedbacks so I have complete system information to pass along to QA:

Everyone please open a ticket support and driver feedback for fast fix.

https://nvidia-submit.custhelp.com

Tell them it's a problem idling with nvidia power saving management and when playing or using higher clock speed the issue doesn't happen direct link to the GPU clock speed.

Copy and paste on the nvidia ticket or support if you need to it will be easier for you.
Code:
The issue is with power management causing it to have High DPC when the GPU clock is low 291 Mhz and 405 Mhz Memory P8. When playing Game/Bluray or MKV movie the GPU Clock max out and the DPC issue doesn't happen, it stays low like it should. Disabling GTX1080 device driver from device mananger instantly fix the issue. Not installing nvidia driver any driver since 368.25 to 368.69 the issue doesn't happen.

Issue doesn't happen when >

Running GPU Clock > Memory Clock > Max P5
Disabling NVidia device without restarting
Not installing NVidia drivers -

Ran a DPC check against my 980 and 1080.

http://imgur.com/a/LoI7Z

One thing I noticed is the drivers aren't so unified anymore. I have to do a driver re-install if I swap the 1080 with anything else and vice versa.
I don't recall having to do that with previous Nvidia cards and drivers.

Found the EVGA Superclock available for retail and jumped on it.

Still not sure if it was the right move or if I should wait for it to

I've got a couple days to cancel--I'm tempted to just stick with my 290x until a 1080Ti is announced.

Card is now clocking down properly with latest driver set (368.69) on my 1080 @ 144hz, so I guess that's something smile.gif

finally got my strix 1080. it's a BIG upgrade from my 970. perfect for my 1440p 144hz monitor.

2050mhz at stock voltage. performs great runs cool too

I came from AMD HD 7970 trifire to Nvidia GTX 1080. The card is as powerful as all 3 combined, without any VRAM limitations or crossfire compatibility reliance. Really happy. The DPC latency is horrible though, gone from a consistent 20us to a ****storm, values going up to 4500us and an average of 1000us when idle.
