Anyone have experience with back ordering through Newegg? I did so with my second G1 and it says it's in packaging already. I got a preorder/backorder confirmation yesterday and now an order confirmation this morning with the packaging status. I'm not sure if this is the norm, but I'd be surprised if it was actually going to ship out Monday/Tuesday for as long as the backorder was up.

Cooled by air, not sure if I'll take the plunge on water cooling these. I'm considering putting them in my girlfriend's computer once "1080 Ti"/"Titan P" hits, and slap some waterblocks on those instead.

Hope I'm not gonna get any less than yours biggrin.gif

And also,
Hi everybody, I'm also gonna join soon with the Zotac 1080 Amp Extreme tongue.gif

Welcome to the club. This Zotac is the best cooling you can get for the gtx 1080 next to water cooling pretty much. Excellent card so far. Will probably put some voltage into it eventually and get 2200/2300 mhz if im lucky 😎

And yeah, let me know if you can squeeze out even more from the beast, 2200 would be real nice for me, anything above is a mith drool.gif
Can't wait to have it, I hope I'll get it before the next weekend.
Nice cooling as it seems, I'll probably leave it like that, on air for a while and then, if the Bitspower will make a wb for this series as well as the 980 (ti)'s I might buy one.
I have to say that your temps are simply great, did you somehow replace the thermal grease of the gpu?
Cause I have an Italian friend and he's getting 70 C with the stock fan curve and 65 with a modified (1:1) one.

Also looking on your sig, are you also thinking of a cpu & system upgrade?
Cause' you may benefit some from this in minimum framerate and frametimes thumb.gif

Stock thermal paste. The Phantom 820 is a great case. Big fans and all the hot air gets out of the case fast, excellent airflow. Water cooling the cpu also helps. I will replace the thermal paste with arctic silver ceramic when I go for the next overclock.

Soon as Zen and Skylake-e benches and reviews come out ill update my cpu for sure, but it would be funny to just keep on trucking with this first gen i5 till 2020. Everyone would be like " this guy lol " 😂😂😂👍

Thank you! We sure are! She's rocking a 980 Ti right now, but I'm looking to bump her up to these two 1080s, and put the 980 Ti to some other use!

Ah okay... I kept adding voltage AND MHz... I'll retry by adding MHz only. I had to drop memory clocks by 50mhz after long runs as the temps started slowing the max memory speed down.. keep an eye on that too.

I can get 8000 in a Fur-mark 1080p run on my 2500k.. I feel like it's holding me back now in game. Time for 6700k or Zen!

Okay, here's the best of what I've got so far. I've gone through three nVidia GTX 1080 Founder Editions cards and this is the best of the lot thus far. This is STOCK bios for the Founder Edition card. These numbers are with an EK Waterblock installed. Overclocking this card with GPU Boost 3.0 makes me really miss my 980ti's with Custom Bios. tongue.gif

Before installing the EK Water Block I was unable to go over 2050 core, even with max fan speed. It would hit 60c and the voltage would start jumping all over the place adding instability. After installing the water block on this card I haven't seen temps over 39c and it will contently run along at 2100 core, (no fluctuations) for hours. The core will go up to 2126mhz and is 24/7 stable there but these settings in the graph seem to be the sweet spot. The Memory on this card will OC all the way to +1000Mhz, (max slider) and is benchmark stable. It's 24/7 Stable at +800Mhz but I see little to ZERO difference in performance past where I have it set now, (+464Mhz) which seems to be the sweet spot for the memory for now.

Adding more Volts via the slider on the left tends to only add instability. This is what the Core and Memory are set to in the GPU-Z graph above.

Best 3DMark Extreme I've been able to get, 11,724. Trying to push 12,000 Graphics Score without flashing the BIOS.

Quick Snapshot.

Well I have spent most of the day testing the XOC Bios on my MSI 1080 Gaming X. I was able to push my card to +2300MHz @ 1.2v. Which is great but I am getting lower benchmark scores and FPS in Heaven and Firestrike. I tested my card using the XOC bios at different voltages and core freq. but I could never reach or beat my firestrike score of 20135 on my stock bios with my max clocks of 2139MHz core and 5580MHz on the memory.

I even tested the XOC bios using the same clocks and volts I used with my stock bios and could not reach or even get close to my top score of 20135 in firestrike. I kept getting a score of 19610 and I noticed my FPS was allot lower Haven. I tried reinstalling drivers and XOC bios and same thing. I do not know what is going on but the XOC bios is no good on my card.

While I can push my core super high and its stable with no artifacting nor driver crashing it is not any good since I am losing FPS and getting lowers scores in 3dmark. I went ahead and flashed my stock bios back and tested and sure enough got my +20000 score in firestrike. I highly recommend you guys test the XOC bios and compare with your stock bios and make sure you are getting higher FPS and high scores in benchmarks.

Link to my top score on firestrike stock bios

Fire Strike 1.1 Score = 20135

Fire Strike Extreme 1.1 Score = 11141
