Just received an MSI 1080 EK Sea Hawk X. I hooked it up and got these results from 3dmarks vs my 2x7970s... http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/9287645/fs/8697663

I would like to OC it right off the bat, see how far up I can get... I put the card with power limit and temp limit all the way to the top and did +50 on the core clock and everything is running perfectly fine. Temps are hitting barely 39-40C on load. How much more would I be able to go up before I need to start adding voltage? I haven't touch mem yet... but will do once I get the core dialed in.

Can you pretty please give us a BIOS dump? The Sea Hawk X uses a FE PCB, but I'm wondering if it has a higher power limit than standard FE due to it 'only' giving +5% power limit and in the sole review so far it has it barely hitting that PL at 2152MHz with 1.062v. smile.gif http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_1080_sea_hawk_x_review,39.html

Also, I'm jelly at that load temp. I am using an EVGA 980ti hybrid cooler on mine with dual Scythe GT AP-14 in push/pull and I'm still hitting 53-54C full load after gaming for a while. smile.gif

Not the same Sea Hawk X... it's the EK waterblock edition.

Would anything bad happened if I just tried those settings in one shot and see if they worked?

Oh, you got the better one then biggrin.gif

You can definitely give those settings a go and see how it ends up! edit: nvm, the board is custom lol

They didn't work. Got artifacts and what not. stun.gif

Link me to somewhere on how to do it and I will keep playing with it and see how high I get. So running at +100 core voltage is ok?

Changing the voltage probably won't do you any favors IMHO. I didn't realize in the review they were running their VRAM at +700, most are only capable of +450-500, with a few hitting +530-550, so for starters, I would leave VRAM at default and play with the core only and see where you get.

So don't do the voltage at +100? I am down to +145 and voltage at +100 and am still getting artifacts. mad.gif

Usually more voltage just causes you to hit the power limit wall faster. What is Afterburner reporting your voltage, clocks, etc at once they level out?

Using heaven, power is leveling out at around 80 to 85, clocks at 2126, mem at 5006... how do I see voltage? I don't see it listed anywhere. I see VID usage going from like 59 to 65 or so. This is doing +145 core and keeping the voltage at +100.
