Is it possible to Vmod a Giga yet? Maybe to an EK Bios? Not sure if the VRM's could handle that.

I haven't attempted any BIOS flashes yet. I am waiting for the braver people to flesh out which BIOS is the best for FE cards so I can then try it.

You can use BorderLinx or other freight forwarding services then.

I was very lucky to grab a Gigabyte xtreme premium pack from Newegg yesterday. I will receive it Monday. Can't wait.

My EVGA 1080 had some pretty nasty coil whine. I managed to bring it down to an acceptable level after stressing the card for a week.

I wasn't quite sure what was causing it since this is a fresh build...until I moved houses. I suppose my old house had some electrical issues because the coil whine is 95% gone now. thumbsupsmiley.png

Where did you get the seahawk ek bios at?

I got some nice results with the gigabyte waterforce if you wanna try that out.

Maybe you should go with 1080 volt mods ? tongue.gif

It's very easy to remove all power limits .....

I would but i just dont have any pots and my soldering iron here sucks. I'll end up ordering the pots and just do it at work. I got the caps and resistors at work so i just need the pots.

And my multi meter here "Should" be calibrated but i have never calibrated it. I just do a hillbilly calibration. Measure some stuff on my works flukes that are calibrated write down what i get go home and adjust it to those values. Maybe some time during the week i'll start on it looks pretty simple i just have to find the time to do it. And bios flashing is fun lol.

Tested a few bios. And they all suck. So far the FE and the MSI seahawk along with the Gigabyte waterforce are giving the best results.

Palit gamerock. Sucks bad one of the worst bios i have tested.

HerculeZ Twin X2. About the same as the EVGA's nothing great

Asus Strix OC. Again same old same old.

I'll test more. The top 3 i listed are all great and stable. Using the Waterforce as a daily driver now. If anyone else wants me to test some out just let me know and i'll try to get some test on it and let you know how it is.

You can do the same at 1440p. DO IT! You are not exploiting the full power of that card @1080p.
