+1, Thanks for the feedback... thumb.gif

My water cooling loop is nothing fancy, its in a case that doesn't have a window so I didn't have to pretty things up per say. Click on the 1080 club in my sig and that should lead to 3 pictures I had put up before in this thread.

As for how to use the FE backplate with an EK block, just re-use the hexagonal screws that you're going to remove when removing the FE air cooler. By the way, if you're going to use needle nose pliers to remove those hexagonal screw, take it freakin slow and steady. Its beyond easy to break off a component, scratch the PCB or sever a trace on the PCB if you're spinning pliers willy nilly while unscrewing them. So after looking at my photo again it appears I had re-used 9 of those hexagonal screws. Either way you can see my finished product in that photo to see what I mean.

I borrowed a 4mm socket from my father. So I got that covered. I'm not using nose pliers, not on a (in Norway) 885 USD GPU.

I saw the pictures, looks very neat. I will def. do the same since I already have the backplate. The scews you connected, was that something you used instead of the EK scews, or dosen't the block require all of the holes/scews? (If you know what I mean smile.gif ).

Looks very good by the way. Thanks for the info. Rep!

My memory is a bit fuzzy these days but I am nearly certain that I did not leave any of the waterblock's locations for screws unused. So it should be 9 hex screws, the 4 screws by the GPU die and that one screw next to the PCI bracket.

Thanks!

If this is correct, It will be a joy installing.

Win - win. You don't need to purchase another backplate, and you can re-use your old FE backplate..

Will receive it within Friday hopefully. Can post a few pictures if others are interested.

Once again, thank you! cheers.gif

Photos are as always welcomed. I like seeing what other people do on their rigs. Sometimes it serves as inspiration and other times it sparks ideas.

Try to use msi afterburner hardware monitor fot that.... Maybe its rly pushing only 1.09v max.

We need to see some results with 1.2v on water...2.3k is maybe possible smile.gif

Can we expect a huge improvement in overclocking capability when we get a BIOS tweaking software like we did with maxwell?

I ask because I see that, as it is now, most cards performance are paired, be it a an EVGA with 6 power phases, a G1 with 8, a MSI with 10 or a FTW with 12...

Until we can reliably and consistently push the power limit and the gpu voltage then this really is a waiting game.
