I put game details at such level that I get 120 or 144 as a minimum. That way I have the best experience and don't bother about anySync. smile.gif

Unfortunatelly, that Dell is unusable. DP1.2 - or USB-C and we don't have a USB-C GPU. smile.gif

Oh and that stutter, are you sure it's not related to your drive? I'm using SSDs for years now, always the fastest so I may have missed the stutter during streaming part...

Uh, what? lol, just get a DisplayPort to type-C adapter, dude. tongue.gif If you can buy a $5,000 monitor, I'm sure a $30 cable won't hurt.

Actually, it's confirmed 4K @ 120Hz..

Curious on what temps you end up with. I am hoping get get below 40C also.

Me?

I have a Samsung SM951 512gb.... also owned many, many SSD's. Mechanical HDD's have no place in a modern gaming system. smile.gif

Actually, it's confirmed 4K @ 120Hz..

That will only work at 4K 30Hz. Can't even do 4K at 60 Hz let alone 120 Hz.

The review that said it only work at 4K 30Hz is using a 12" Macbook that only can only do 4K 30Hz because Core M iGP limitations.

or just get this which is confirmed USB 3.1 C to DP 1.2 and half the price

Err, you're talking about the literal cable I linked?

Early implementations of DisplayPort Alt Mode USB Type-C devices will likely use existing DisplayPort 1.2a capabilities that support up to 5.4 Gbps per lane. Using 5.4 Gbps across all four high-speed lanes will support up to 4K (4096 x 2160) display resolutions at a 60Hz frame rate with up to 30-bit color.

However, it's crazy to think that appropriate cabling / GPUs setup will not be available. Every thread about this OLED monitor seems to think, "Oh, wow. Dell screwed the pooch on that $5,000 monitor." Give them a little credit.

....or, have you discovered something that Dell hasn't even imagined yet?

^^ 4K @ 120Hz does not yet have a gpu transcoder that can push that signal.. thru a cable that does not yet exist AFAIK.

top line (ex-) Fuji pads (careful, they are more like a putty than a pad). Where are you putting the Liquid metal? JUST an FYI - the block mount tolerances make using a Liq metal a real challenge since they only really work well when the mount surfaces are perfect. The kryonaut on the GPU is more "imperfection" tolerant. I'd try that first and if the temps are not to your liking, go metal.
My experience using an EK uniblock on the 1080 with kryonaut (or gelid ex, PK-3 etc) is that the GPU temp will not be a problem, and there is no clock benefit between 30C and 45C. Hook up a water chiller and cool it to 5-10C and it will run higher clocks.. for us "ambient" players. wink.gif
