top line (ex-) Fuji pads (careful, they are more like a putty than a pad). Where are you putting the Liquid metal? JUST an FYI - the block mount tolerances make using a Liq metal a real challenge since they only really work well when the mount surfaces are perfect. The kryonaut on the GPU is more "imperfection" tolerant. I'd try that first and if the temps are not to your liking, go metal.
My experience using an EK uniblock on the 1080 with kryonaut (or gelid ex, PK-3 etc) is that the GPU temp will not be a problem, and there is no clock benefit between 30C and 45C. Hook up a water chiller and cool it to 5-10C and it will run higher clocks.. for us "ambient" players.
I used fujipoly pads on my asus ares 3 card which was 295x2 with custom pcb and waterblock. Improved my vrm temps by up yo 35C under heavy oc and volts.
Its rly good to use it and I rly recommend it!
I also used CLU on both of the cores and it dropped temps by ~10-15C. I ended up with about 40-50C on ares 3 wich has an EK waterblock.
I will use it with 1080 as well
