Basically, don't go spreading misinformation just because you had a single bad experience or even just an opinion. All vendors will have a percentage of cards that have excessive coil whine, higher than normal temps..possibly due to thermal paste application and other random issues.

I couldn't agree more. Just got my FTW in today, 2012 Mhz out of the box and 2100 stable over an hour. Can't wait to put it under water when ek finally releases their FTW block. I'm quite sad that it was pushed back a month, but who am I to really complain?

I think only the new Gen5 coolers from Asetek are truly quiet. The startup voltage on this pump is ~4.6V.

I have to check my first post about it for exact numbers, but IIRC, 20-40% normally with spikes/peaks at 60%.

Regardless, the release notes for the driver includes fixes for the GTX 1070/1080. It only specifies that it adds support for Titan X:

I can do 2050MHz stable in SLI on FEs with 100% fan and the rest of the case fans on 100%😂 It boosts to 2100 but then temp throttling kicks in. If I put these on water it can hit 2100.

With normal profile it's about 1986 - 2012 in SLI. Those extra 100-150mhz isn't worth for me to buy all those blocks.

I had some audible coilwhine on my ftw. My friend had so as well. Went away for both of us by doing some benches and whatnot. Seems that was the case for several people, from Reading forums. Can't say tho that "audible" was very loud. You can barely hear it when fan is still running flow but fps is high.

Mine boosted to 2025 out of the Box. Some fiddling with curve sets me at roughly 2120 and a 3dmark graphic score of 24700. Reelly want to break that 25k barrier! (Will post screenshots in a little while. Just went to bed).

Running 100% fan does not serm to Thermal throttle me atleast. Sitting in at around 60 with my 2120 OC.

One thing I did err on was that the slave bios seems to accept less Hz. A 110 offset with main bios was stable, while it was not with the slave. Also I got better scores with the main bios over the slave bios. Same settings gave almost 300 differance in graphic score, in favor of the main bios. Anyone got any insight to what the differance is other than power target (130) and a different fan profile?

Bad coil whine reports are for FTW and Gigabyte G1 cards mostly. See some egg/Amazon reviews.

I have a FTW and no coil whine and fans at 100% keep me under 60c or so and I am in SoCal so temps here are not pleasant right now lol.

Been running the anniversary update for a couple weeks now and no issues with 3dmark or anything else

Also, mine had 6 months warranty only, no backplate and was going to end up buying a custom one from EK. So, in the end, I spent more with EVGA, got a better cooler, a nice backplate, more powerphases, a whole lot better lonking card and 3 years warranty (which is extremely importante if I want to sell it 2 years from now. much easier to sell something that still has a full year covered. here in brazil evga sells a lot easier second hand than any other brand).

As the name says, EVGA FTW.

I am quoting the wrong post for you, but how do you plan to hookup a AIO cooler to the FTW? I would LOVE to use one of my corsair units on my FTW card!!

Just use an adapter like Kraken G10 (only works with a few AIO coolers) or a custom made one like the artisan sells here on the forum. I'll have one custom made for me with 2mm aluminum plate, since I live far far away from the artisan. shouldn't be expensive at all.

One good thing about the FTW is that it's heatplate cover the entire pcb, leaving only the die exposed, that will keep everything else cooled (especially if you blow some cold ar onto it) while keeping the GPU cold as banker's hearth.

Anything above 49ºC already causes the card to throttle.

Boy, I'm so happy to hear that. I was a little bit afraid because I heard from some reviewers that FTW was not a good overclocker. But it seems it's only luck-o-the-draw anyway...

Going to return my armor and get a brand new sexy FTW on friday biggrin.gif
