[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1080 Owner's Club - Page 436

Finally got my Zotac 1080 AMP Extreme yesterday. It was a tight fit: http://imgur.com/a/lAHf5

Seen it at 2.185 MHz for some time but it stabilizes at 2.088 MHz while gaming (GTA V, Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 mostly). This was at stock.

I'm not familiar with the OC of Pascal yet, but did a few quick tries just using the sliders on afterburner. It seems to handle +20 MHz GPU and +50 MHz RAM and that was it. Even the +20 didn't seem stable in the long term. Even with that OC, I couldn't notice any difference in FPS.. maybe +1 FPS in W3.

I'm fairly happy with it tho, never see it below 2 GHz while gaming and it is pretty cool -. As in 57-62C while gaming (in a room with 22C ambient temperature).
The fans are a bit noisier than I expected tho.

Thanks

Yes I can reach 2050/2063 90% of the times in all games

Will improve my airflow in my cosmos 2 to see if I can get temps lower

Check if your core clock when you start the test (with your idle temp) is sustained after 40, 45, 50, 55 and so on...

Here is the clock, and even at tempratures at 58 it does not clock down.
However when running firestrike it does, as you suggest, clock down by 12, to 2114.

Here is my latest Firestrike score: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9617547. 24 734 graphic score. I guess that is pretty decent?

I have not used firestrike for long, but I get the feeling that the St.dev. for the results is quite large. Here is another with exact same settings:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13833916?
Why the big differance in score?

As it seems to be the concensus that FE bios is the best. Would flashing FE Bios to my FTW card benefit my scores / capability?

Now that's a first...

Very nice to see those stable clocks at almost 60°C, I'm shure everyone will be as surprised as I am. Heaven is "light" though. I could get more stable clocks with it too, but not THAT stable.

I'm not shure if it's FE bios that's causing all that difference in overclocks. But if you try it out, please report your findings thumb.gif

And firestrike does have some % of error in it's results. If you run 3 consecutive benchmarks you'll get 3 different results. Now imagine in a different PC.

I'm going to do some more tinkering with more demanding tests, and try some games. The 300 score differance is only about 1% so I guess just a thing as getting a message on steam can affect the score.

Going to test the FE bios later today - I think. Never tried to flash a bios before biggrin.gif Don't want to ruin anything!

<= Pretty much this.

You @uberwootage are acting like its area 51 and noone can know about anything. I thought this forum here is about spreading love and helping each other but guess not...
And if its really that top secret, then there's a more polite way of saying so, rather than "haters gonna hate".
Yes you are the winner sir, cuz you have the modded bios, you are waaaay above us and can laugh at all of us, haters.. L0L doh.gif

He thinks he's elite for some reason.

Uber bro... don't post about it if you can't share it with us. The old "oh I have a special BIOS thats amazing but you can't have it. Even though it's just a file".

Being from a heavy Linux, Unix, BSD background.... I do understand not releasing something until it's ready. I get that.

It works however. You stated this multiple times. At this point, the creator is just being a knob if he won't give it up. Period.

What is it that he has? A bios with higher voltage, I hope? tongue.gif

Supposedly a modded bios with the TDP raised to 300w.
