Btw whats your 2d clocks? Mine stay at 1190mhz or so.. maybe cuz of tdp hard mod?

Use the circled ports in this pic:

See the very top port of the Strix is HDMI and on the FE, it's DP. That's why the black screen when flashing and using this port.

I see ppl are getting 2.3GHz and 1.2V with strix OC bios.....curious if the real performance is rly there... redface.gifwink.gif

it works !!! Flashed to my Palit 1080 Gamerock and no tdp limit anymore !

And performance issue from previous version fixed smile.gif

Good work!

Would this firmware work on a MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X?

The previous XOC bios worked on the my Sea Hawk EK X 1080, same pcb as your card. I'm fairly certain there won't be any issues. Make sure to use the correct DP port after the flash as the pic above.

Finally got my Zotac 1080 AMP Extreme yesterday. It was a tight fit: http://imgur.com/a/lAHf5

Seen it at 2.185 MHz for some time but it stabilizes at 2.088 MHz while gaming (GTA V, Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 mostly). This was at stock.

I'm not familiar with the OC of Pascal yet, but did a few quick tries just using the sliders on afterburner. It seems to handle +20 MHz GPU and +50 MHz RAM and that was it. Even the +20 didn't seem stable in the long term. Even with that OC, I couldn't notice any difference in FPS.. maybe +1 FPS in W3.

I'm fairly happy with it tho, never see it below 2 GHz while gaming and it is pretty cool -. As in 57-62C while gaming (in a room with 22C ambient temperature).
The fans are a bit noisier than I expected tho.

My AMP Extreme starts over 2150 (I've seen it like yours reaching 2185) then gets stable at 2126 Mhz with +60 GPU, temps under 70C without maxing fans (32C room temp)
I keep Mem at +100 @ 11k Mhz but it could go higher.

A great deal of lottery going on, in his review Jay could not get his Extreme past 2050 Mhz:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO64zln8kNg

And this guy with an SLI gets 2152Mhz fully stable with +99 GPU:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTOm-s9donI

At the end comparing models is pretty much pointless as one unit will differ greatly from another. But I have to say that I've never seen any reports of a Zotac AMP Extreme not going above 2K Mhz (while I've seen quite a few from other well known brands), so to me buying this model gives you at least a certain peace of mind that you will reach a pretty decent clock. Mine boosted 2077 Mhz out of the box.

Don't mix it up with the AMP version reports btw, I had both models and the AMP runs 20C hotter than the AMP Extreme, it's a complete different cooler.

Which bios removes TDP limit and allows you to increase voltage?

Is it safe to use on FE over longer periods of time? (My card is under water) I know the FE only got a 5+1 if i remember correctly.

Perhaps I could push 2250-2300? Since I can do 2139 stock? :hmm:

cheers.gif

I am folding alot with my card, so it will probably live a rough life compared to many others.
