I've got the same set up and am getting the same results with my FTW using the 130% bios. One thing I finally realized, several years and 4 gtxs later, is that you have to run the nvidia made exe, found in the googlesphere, in order to open the 3820 up to pcie 3.0. I'm not sure it's going to make much of a difference with tdp or benchmarking but it feels good knowing I finally have it activated.

Why would you? I've seen GHOF 9 series BIOS and it's rock solid, more than sure they did the same thing with the 10s, slight OC wouldn't hurt ofcorse but Power and Voltage on HOF should be solid thumb.gif

Very likely he will be getting freezes after running 3D with MSI AB oder EVGA Precision-X even just when browsing the internet.

That has been reported by hof / classified owners in germany.

Classified has the same issues since HOF and Classified are supposed to have the same IR VRM Controler.

i'm talking about pushing the voltage to run higher than 1.095v which seems to be the highest , core clock wise i can see play @ steady 2050+ for a while and not dropping below 2020mhz + 5500mhz

solid cards for sure

Boosting Voltage on the 10Series seems to cripple your OC , ive posted two results a wile back, if it's the case for the FE i can only assume it's the case for the whole series but i might be wrong rolleyes.gif

Tested that with both armor and ftw. Both got the best results with +100 voltage and max TDP. Could get the same clock with less voltage, but with occasional drops due to vRel. With +100 voltage and 130% TDP, there's no vRel in most applications.

I tried GamingX OC bios on mine and got bad results , have you tried FE bios with everything Stock? Reason i'm asking , few people posted better OC results with FE Bios.
Btw this was my last run on 1080 and on Stock 1.06V, adding Voltage 1.09 would result in under 25000.

@LeviathanVI

You might also want to check out those ones ... pretty good price for a custom PCB with 8+2 Phase VRM Design.

I used to be an AMD Guy (for 15 Years) and i dont think it's different for nvidia when i tell you that refrence cards are more likely to coil whine (R9 290X oh god...)
Also the reference 1080's just have 1x 8-PIN and therefore less OC-Potential, even tho this does not seem to be the limiter at the moment.

Btw you get watercoolers for partnercards aswell and you can also powermod the partnercards ... wait... there is no need to do that.

My reference 290X doesn't have coil whine, my 295X2 had coil whine and my GTX 1080 has more coil whine than the 295X2. At least its not Fury X banshee levels of screaming though. Those cards if you had coil whine, gud lawd, rest in pepperonis.

Haven't tried FE bios yet, might do it out of pure curiosity, but something tells me that it won't make any difference (for better, at least).
