[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1080 Owner's Club - Page 504

Hey guys. Can anyone help me out? I got my new gtx 1080 ftw edition and it overclocks to +95 core and +350 memory stable. Giving about a 2080 sustained boost clock. I want to also change voltages though to achieve 2100mhz and am confused as to how it works. Is it safe just to jack it up to +100℅ voltage limit and just explore there? The graph method is also very confusing and the precision x tool is not very well designed. Thanks for any help.

Coil whine is huge problem when you want to have a silent PC - this is one of the main reasons I had to replace my 290X (as they were new i had to order 3 pce of them and kept the one with the least coil while - but it was still the loudest noise in my whole PC. Very annoying.
I'll never buy a reference card anymore.

My 1080 (Palit Gamerock) does have no coil whine at all (testet in scenarios with up to 400 FPS) and iam very happy with that.

@Zyther: Did you overclock your card? Because my coil while drastically increased with memory-OC. I ended up to not OC memory because of that.

Voltage Offset Control for Pascal could be available soon with another AB Beta.

For this article we use AfterBurner, this is a new Beta stage development build in which we opened up voltage offset control, the release is still pending and not available to the generic public just yet.

Well, thats unfortunate then. sadsmiley.gif
Did you thought about replacing it? It seems there a just very few 1080's with coil whine.

Im going to log a RMA and see what they say, as 1 of the fans has a fluttery sound aswell.

I wish you the best of luck on that! Although I dont think coil while is a reason to RMA a card, maybe the faulty fan helps.
