Replaced my old antec 900 watt gamer PSU with a EVGA G2 1300 watt. I haven't heard coil whine on any card I've owned since. My 2 cents. Many excellent choices though. Hope it solves your coil whine issues.

superflower (evga g2/p2/t2 series) has been slapping around seasonic for ~2 years now:

750 prime 12v ripple 62A load:

850 p2 12v ripple 70.8A load

both are superb but . . .less is always better. wink.gif

I think someone mentioned that the EVGA had less ripple but the drawback was that the cables had capacitors in them. I'll probably look into the P2 if the Seasonic doesn't work.

Negligible. The more substantial difference here is that Superflower/EVGA needs capacitors installed on the cables to do this, which are a liability especially if you ever decide to use custom cables or do your own sleeving. Now imagine if Seasonic used this cheap capacitor cable method, how low the ripple would be.

The efficiency difference between PRIME and P2 is also a more substantial difference but that's an unfair comparison given the existence of EVGA T2.

i did say BOTH were superb but cheap?

please, added ripple suppression is ALWAYS a good thing. but yeah, IF one is custom sleeving then look somewhere else. which brings up - those that have and gotten rid of the caps while sleeving had noticed no increase in ripple that "suddenly" caused an issue.

in other words those caps are negligible.

Might and go buy a EVGA P2 or something to see if my EVGA G2 isn't up to par.

EVGA PSU Fan boy or something? Why don't you buy an I series Corsair? Best PSU's one could own.

There have been tests on them without cable capacitors? Interesting, I want to see. I wasn't sure if it'd be like the old Antec TPQ 1200, although I'm glad the cables aren't that horrendously bulky. They actually feel rather normal.

Just a fan of their warranty. They advance RMA'ed my G2 PSU last time with no questions asked. Just the little things.
