For me, after playing rise of the tomb raider in dx11 mode for 4-5 hours, I saw the occasional few lines that shouldn't have been there. They went away very quickly, but then an hour later I glimpsed them again in another scene. Could have almost been mistaken for rain.

It's going to vary from game to game, as well as card to card.

Temp has been a constant 77c throughout.

Interesting. I've seen something similar. Everything that I've tried was stable at 2154. Then i moved to just cause 3 last night. Slight red does on the water wouldn't totally go away until i lowered it to 2126 and no extra voltage. I have a feeling that this also might vary between drivers.

Based on everyone's experience thus far including classified owners, I'm not sure that it would make much of a difference. Pains me to say as a owner of a 780 lightning that worked awesomely at 1.375 -1.4ghz constant useage for about 3 years. But that one kind of won the silicone lottery i suppose.

I am dithering between which 1080 I should buy (possible SLI later).
They will be water cooled, and OC.

Water cool brand: EKwb or HeatKiller

Which card should I buy for the best OC results (over 2000MHz) ?

I agree DrFreeman35 totally...
Get the cheapest two u can get with waterblock compatility... maybe get a extra 6 or 8 pin connector for power maybe a better Bios/mod will be available sometimes but yeah atm the differnces between cards arent hugh..
And you can flash Bioses anyways thumb.gif

Considering the weirdness that's GPU Boost 3.0, I doubt it would really help.

Has anyone tried to reapply thermal paste on the MSI Gaming 1080 X? MSI claims they use a premium compound, but I wonder how premium it really is. Would it be worth it to give that a shot?

Do you use the older or the newest Nvidia drivers?

Unless you are having temp/noise problems, I wouldn't bother. Aren't they amongst the coolest/quietest?
