Anyone playing Fallout 4 at 4K with a GTX 1080? It seems to run kind of shady. First of all, I am not really playing at 4K, but I have the up scaling forced in the Driver settings. All of my other games run really smooth, and look just amazing!

Fallout 4, @ 4K resolution, high shadows, and high god rays, no/AA. Everything else is maxed out. Walking around the game where there are buildings, and streets, or towns I'm averaging 60+ FPS, but once I walk in to the thick woods my frame rates DROP to roughly 25-30 it is terrible. GTA V runs way smoother than this @4K resolution. Is this normal?

I have a fresh windows installed, and the newest Nvidia 372 drivers as well. My video card s overclocked fairly high. I have tried default, and overclocked. it seems like a really bad performance issue. And based on GTX1080 reviews. I shouldn't be going below 45?

What kind of performance are you guys getting at 4K ?

I picked up my sealed in the box GTX1080 FE for $280 bucks on Craigslist. What a deal.

A Young man, going to college for graphics design received the card paid for by "Financial Aid" He changed his classes around, so now he no longer needs it! So,even though he didn't even know what it was, And, I was fortunate to pick it up for $280 bucks CASH money. I paid more then that for my GTX 1070.

This is a once in a lifetime deal for me.

I came across this card, because I was looking to trade my GTX1070, and add cash on my end to get a GTX1080. So, it turns out it worked out even better. The GTX1080 is a great 4K gaming card.

sure...

Just going to point out that it isn't just reporting THRM, it's reporting power, voltage reliability (vRel) as well as temperature (Thrm) all at the same time.

I've been through this with him on other forums and from what I can see it's due to a bug where GPUboost 3 isn't reporting correctly, which can lead to lower power states being implemented until you restart the computer.

He may find some comfort in knowing that this happens to quite a lot of us and will most likely be resolved in future driver updates. There is a thread over on the Geforce forums that Nvidia have taken note of and reproduced the downclocking issue.

I think it's all related to the same issue. Gpu boost isn't reporting correctly so the card defaults to lower clockspeed as a fail-safe.

Nothing to worry about especially as many others have been having the same issue and Nvidia are looking into it.
