Thank you I read that. I got them at 200mhz core over lock and 400 memory now. I'm + 9fps now. Not bad on air cooling.

I opened a window version of Unigine Valley and checked the FPS at a certain point(paused so there was no FPS fluctuation) and it was 106 FPS with my memory on stock. Raising it up to +600 made it drop to 102 FPS so i slowly decreased it by -10 each time and then -1 when i was between the areas of the issue. Ended up with +457 with gave me 113 FPS, the SECOND i raised it to 458 it dropped to 102 again.

Recommend you all do it. smile.gif Could be getting less FPS than you're meant to just by being +1 memory over.

I've found the same thing. There are multiple "valleys" (pun intended) that the memory doesn't kick into error correcting or loosening timings. The top memory clock before you see artifacts is definitely not the way to go.

What's with that Fury X (Lethenar) on the single card FSU and FSE list? Is that a real one on fire under liquid nitrogen, or actually CrossFire recognized as 1 card by mistake?

There are 24 980Ti ahead of me on the FSE single card ranking, most of them from GALAX GOC 2015 Qualifier, then there is this Fury X .... so annoying mad.gif

I applied some kryonaut on the FE and temps dropped 5-8 degrees at idle. Probably difficult to tell if it makes a difference under load with boost 3.0. It also seems more logical to leave the back plate off. It is covered with plastic and has two open spots that use thermal pads to make contact with the card. It didn't even look like the pads were making contact so I just left it off.

Thats what i was saying early that backplate have no use and probably would do more harm than good as is not transfering heat to a bigger surface area aka backplate metal.. So it would create more heat..

You youngsters. When will you get bored of testing your shiny new cards on synthetic benchmarks tongue.gif

Actually it's more likely, the vendors tend to optimise for FM tests in the release drivers. I broke the 3 way world record on air cooled reference 980GTX at launch.

I'm just thankful for how this card performs in games this time round!
