Hitting 2076 core/10990 memory and stable in absolutely everything else :-/ Anybody experienced/resolved this before?

I have experienced complete stability in Firestrike and Timespy but artifacts in games at the same clocks namely Just Cause 3. I think these cards may be more finicky with max overclocks than we have seen in the past. Upping voltage doesn't always help me either and actually seems to hurt in several games.

I picked up my sealed in the box GTX1080 FE for $280 bucks on Craigslist. What a deal.

A Young man, going to college for graphics design received the card paid for by "Financial Aid" He changed his classes around, so now he no longer needs it! So,even though he didn't even know what it was, And, I was fortunate to pick it up for $280 bucks CASH money. I paid more then that for my GTX 1070.

This is a once in a lifetime deal for me.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/details/g83dk

I came across this card, because I was looking to trade my GTX1070, and add cash on my end to get a GTX1080. So, it turns out it worked out even better. The GTX1080 is a great 4K gaming card.

You sure that it wasn't an old Gtx 280 that you bought? tongue.gif Enjoy. Don't have fallout 4 but have tested Gtx V and some others. Gta V starts having some slowdowns when there's a lot of foliage at 4K. Forget about the ultra foliage setting at that res.

Wondering about flashing back to the strix bios. Seems like I can hit 2176 at 1075MV. Not bad if it's stable.

Temps are currently at 38'C while folding. I need a seperate loop for the GPU and the CPU as in gaming it rise to 44-48'C. tongue.gif

I am having a hardtime overclocking my MSI GTX1080 FE model. I can go +225 on my core, and + 600 on my memory stable. And once I open firestrike and run it, the core clocks seem to go upwards of 2126Mhz, and then the warmer the card gets, it just works its way down to roughly 1974mhz. I am running 100% fan speeds. Temps do not go above 70C.

My memory at 11,200 is great! Tons of bandwidth. But, my core speed is just all over the place! lol

The most I can get in firestrike graphics score is 24,100 I assume this is normal?

It's the same on my Non Overclocked Strix (It basically runs at FE clocks with the Strix cooler, but has 6+8 power connectors), as soon as the temps hit 50c they start dropping by increments of 13Mhz until they stabilize at 1911Mhz@65c, this is with a 100Mhz core overclock.

But even with the card at stock it will boost to 1987Mhz anyway but settles at 1897Mhz, it's advertised boost clocks are 1743mhz, so it goes well over that at stock.

You'd think 65c - 70c max temps would be acceptable for the card, but nope it starts dropping clocks once it hits 50c, tested with 100% fan speed, kept the clocks higher, but stupidly loud..

If I am to have a dedicated loop for 2x GTX 1080 STRIX, what size radiator(s) will I need if I plan on Ocing them to around 2GHz boost.
