Paying double the price for 10% performance is meh

Gotta go fast!!!!

Honestly though, don't forget that people are building new rigs atm, the drivers still have time to mature and what not.

1080 OC is NOT only 10% faster than 980 Ti OC. Average performance gain from 980 Ti to 1080 is 22.6% across 9 games @ 1080p/1440/4k. If your basis for comparison is just 3dmark you don't have the whole picture.

Love reading the annual 'previous gen buyers try to justify not purchasing next gen to themselves' spew.

Because that's what it is, spew. Every single year lol. Nobody is forcing you to upgrade, but the 1080 is undeniably faster. In all scenarios in fact. As is to be expected.

I'll be joining the club soon-ish myself. Hopefully in the next couple of months. Finally upgrading from a 780. This should be quite the noticeable upgrade.

My T-X is running at 1480mhz so i would like to bench with a OC 1080 see the difference.. I will get the Next Titan also as i like to have the fastest card.. Took 14 months for a faster card to come out and people are saying its only 10% faster for $300 less
I guess you don't know how quotes work either. I was saying the the guy you quoted has no idea what he's talking about.

So how long before we get some benchmarks with all the third party 1080 cards (asus, evga, galax, zotac etc.)?

It's not an ideal upgrade path for a Titan user, that is to come - obviously.

feh.. voodoo -> voodoo 2, voodoo 3 -> riva..something(i don't recall some of these middle ones)680, 9800 gx2 -> 9780 ->780 -> titan -> 980 ->titan x -> 1080 -> new titan smile.gif (the 980 was a waste. Those cards were totally gimped by the limited about of vram)

here in overclock.net forums we play for keeps! (i beat the hell out of those titan Xs too.. so i was happy to clear them out. They were launch cards)
faster is faster smile.gif

now if they would let me god damn unlock 3/4 way SLI!
