Well that sucks, I know these cards don't scale well with voltage like maxwell did but at the same time I thought some 3rd party vendors would find a way around it.

Has anyone tried the newest drivers? How are they?
For kicks I loaded the StrixOC bios onto the 2nd bios slot on my 1080 Hybrid. Lots of control over features missing, but voltage did go up to 1.12v (or 1.15, I forgot). It made no difference at all, my card still crashed at 2088 and 2063mhz. Re-loaded the proper Hybrid slave bios back onto the card just fine.

I'm really bummed. I'm not going to return a card due to bad OC, I'd sell it if I choose to get rid of it. I am so tempted to go and buy a Classified instead to just have the highest clock possible without loading custom bios onto the card. I'd have to believe it will go beyond the 2050mhz wall that my Hybrid hits.

I am able to OC the memory to 10,400mhz.

My main game is F1 2016 and I want to get the minimum FPS as close to 100 as possible (1440p resolution). Core clock at 2050 and stock memory yields minimum FPS of 84. Simply raising the memory to 10,400mhz gives me minimum FPS of 86. If I can get a card that will boost to 2130 or 2150 that's a 100mhz difference, which is a lot.

Knowing my luck, if I get a Classified it will be just as bad.

Edit- it's still better than my 980 Ti w/ Hybrid kit + custom bios w/ core clock at 1478mhz. Minimum FPS was 71. So overall I guess I am pleased with the bump the 1080 gives me, was just expecting better.

Did the DDU. It cleaned about 30 GB of crap in my OS drive lol.

Re-ran the bench. Scored the same.

Installed second card and first default run was 9182 in Firestrike Ultra. My 980 Tis scored about 9003 maxed out.

Need to test more but thus far, what nonsense people say about 1080s being 30% faster than 980 Tis. Will test games and see what's up.

Isn't necessarily a bad thing except u might gotta tweak your OC again for 10-15min

Thanks. It's just seemed a bit strange. I can still up my clocks to what I have before it appears with very short testing today anyway. I guess time will tell if it impacts my stability. I eventually ran into this with my old 780 Lightning. It could usually compensate by upping the voltage. That doesn't seem to help Pascal too much.

Thx for reply.
AMP Edition was once my 1st choice due to 2.1+GHz core speeds claimed by quite some buyers, but also worried about its cooling and my 30+C ambient (plus don't like the sag with Extreme cooler.
