So i'm still sitting on an unopened Evga GTX 1080 FE and I really want to just buy a FTW 1080 but can't find any of those for sale, nor can I find an Asus Strix 1080 - any idea if those are even out?

Not that I know of, I had to preorder my FTW from B&H and apparently they'll get stock in on the 16th

Do use the LED bridge over the hard. It is better. How much? no idea. but in the pcper video with an NVidia he talked about bridges - and the LED had more bandwidth than the hard.

Nice!

Yea, I'm using the Nvidia hard LED 3-way SLI bridge.

Is the 4-Way thing going to come any time soon? Really sick of waiting (although it's only been a couple of days).

Also noticed you have the new 6950X. How is it compared to the 5960X? Perceptible difference? I wonder if that CPU can also handle much faster RAM(?).

Got any pics of your setup(s)? This thread needs more pics! biggrin.gif

I just got my two EVGA 1080 Founders cards yesterday. Hit 25654 in Firestrike with my 6700k running at 4.8ghz, stock clocks on the 1080s in SLI. Once I get the 1080s installed with my EK blocks and get the loop going, I'll see if I can hit 2ghz with the 1080s and retest.

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8714533

With 2x 980Ti cards in SLI OC'd 1506 ghz, I got 25549 in Firestrike, but the 6700k was at 4.9ghz for that.

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8538994

The 980Ti cards were on air and fans cranked all the way up for that run. The 1080s managed to beat them at significantly lower noise levels. The air cooler on the Founders cards pumps out a lot of heat, but is much lower in volume at full blast than the EVGA 980Ti cards at full blast.

What are you guys going to do if nvidia decides not to let 3/4 way sli? I am a huge quad gpu fanatic, but 4 1080gtx when you only can enable 2 way. No HB bridges and if they decide to allow over 2 way sli but its currently locked? To me this is like the guys buying hydro evga cards because they cost the most so they thought they were the best and didnt know it requires a water cooling setup. I can't wrap my head around this, leaving 1400$ of gpus unusable while waiting on a possibility to use them kills me brain. Its not about the fact of the money involved but the almost certain path you will be when they enable it (IF) knowing what the scaling is on 980ti/titanx in 3/4 way sli i just dont see why. I mean it looks like to me you guys will be gaming not benchmarking much right?

Good luck no doubt but i cannot understand this path at all.

I can get a pretty stable 1952 boost now with stock fan profile and power target 120% and +175 on the core. Hitting both cards about 85c and 80c. Thats awesome compromise for performance / noise for me. (I know AIB cards can do it on lower temps but I don't want 2 cards dumping heat in the case)
