[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1080 Owner's Club - Page 707

So I'm looking at buying a 1080. Currently, I've settled between the Asus Strix A8G (ASUS recalled the O8G, so I'm good on that front) for $870 CAD. Other one is the Gigabyte G1 Gaming 1080 for $830 CAD.

After my past 980 Ti G1 Gaming, I'm reluctant to go Gigabyte again. Feels cheap and flimsy, though then again, it is the cheapest 1080 around. In terms of RMA they both seem to be quite terrible, but ASUS has a depot 3 hours away from me, so I'm leaning towards them. Thoughts?

Sorry, but the FTW is too expensive, and I don't feel like having it explode or black screen, as noted multiple times on Reddit.

That is true, and that's why I got an 850 P2 from them. Still, the FTW is $950. Much more than the Strix and the G1 Gaming.

+1:thumb:
I had a minor question regarding the Slave Bios and filed a ticket and received a reply to my email within 5 minutes. Awesome customer support.
I have the FTW and am more than happy with it.
For the extra 30$ I would go with the EVGA FTW over the Asus A8G.
I ordered the Asus O8G back in July and waited 2 months for it and received absolutely no idication or reply to my repeated emails and texts to Asus as to when it would be delivered and finally after waiting 2 months decided to go with EVGA FTW.
Best decision I made.

ETA Right now the FTW is 920$

I'm ordering from Newegg, and it is in stock. Also, the difference is $80.

I don't follow...

Anyway, my choices are the G1 and A8G Strix. Which would you guys pick? Sadly I'm skipping EVGA this time around.

Try evga website. It's worth the extra imo. Asus would be my next choice. If you make enough noise on the forums you will get customer service.
